Remarks

Very bad management, bathrooms were dirty. The professors are rude and they dont have compassion nor respect.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I would say you have to study everything by your own. No regular classes except from few professors and guest lecturers. You get to do an internship and a final year project outside and that really helped. We had college practicals but the students were put in groups and that one dominating student did all the practicals. I really didn't like her. She was teachers pet as she used to reveal the students secrets to the teachers, not my favorite.

Placement Experience

3.5

No placements and nothing. I did a biggest mistake choosing this university. However I did my internship in a reputed institution and that experience helped me alot

College Events

0.5

Nothing. Literally nothing. I don't know about other departments but we celebrated nothing. All I remember celebrating, no no breaking swear and spending money on was ayudha pooja where we cleaned our class rooms and corridors, put rangoli infront of our class rooms and bought stuff from our own money and distributed to teachers, How naive we were doing that.

Fee Structure And Facilities

feasible for merit quota. we need to give dd. you have to spend separately for books, lab fee etc coz you need to buy your own lab stuff like gloves, glasswares, lamps, ethanol etc, Also we paid exam fees and spent money on records etc, even though some professors wont even check our notes.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes,I already joined this course in merit quota and paid very less but got merit fellowship where i got around 3500rs per semester if you score top in your class. I also got Univeristy second rank in masters.

Campus Life

4

Nothing. No competitions at at all. If you ask me to write 250 characters this is stupid, iM NOT GOING TO TELL MY FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME. writing this review is very annoying. we had lab hours and people learned nothing. we sometimes had blood donation, tree planting and NCC camps.

Alumni/Alumna

No, we will have interaction if the department conducted freshers or farewell party. But we didnt have any of them.

Admission

When I was in my undergrad, getting admission at University of Madras is a big deal. I prepared extremely hard for the entrance exams apart from my impeccable academic record. I stood first in my class in my undergrad all the three years and also got UNIVERSITY Rank at the end. My entrance exam was held sometime in June end or july first week after canceling the dates so many times. The University administration is very poor I say. I think I joined sometime in August. I stood first in the entrance exam and admitted in merit quota. There are lot of different quotas. Being from Forward caste, eventhough I stood first according to my marks in my entrance exam, I got 2nd rank in overall category and someone from lower caste category with lesser marks got first. This was so disturbing.

Faculty

2.5

I have no clue about some professors and even if they have relevant expertise. There is one guy who doesn't even know anything and yet a professor. And another Asst professor, she only gave lecture twice in two years. We had another prof joined a year later who was very good and she had industry experience but she was cornered by other faculty members because of internal politics and she ended up resigning and joined a different university. This is what happens to talented people in this university.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It covers all core Chemistry subjects with good lab work. I chose this course for strong academics and research scope. The syllabus helps for higher studies and competitive exams like NET, SET. Practicals help in real applications. Exams are held each semester. Difficulty is moderate and most students clear easily,More workshops and industry training can be added for improvement.
