Remarks

REC maybe little expensive since it became autonomous, but it is worth the money considering the opportunities it brings in to all students.

Course Curriculum Overview

Absolutely yes. After becoming autonomous the courses are futuristic. There are labs focused on research and development and encourages student to have a real time and practical experience rather than just acquiring technical knowledge. We have frequent unit tests conducted every month to make sure students learn and keep themselves upgraded.

Class Size: 200Course Fees: INR 60000 per year

Placement Experience

REC is one of the pioneers in placements. They bring in lot of companies and ensure majority of the students get placed on campus. There are even placement training programme to train the students to clear the interviews.

College Events

1. Public speaking forums - encourages the students to concentrate on communication development. 2. Communication development - ever bi weekly there will be communication development sessions conducted by people from Industrt. 3. College Day functions - We have different activities of arts, sports, music and etc. 4. Symposiums - symposiums conducted by all departments. 5. Code vita - coding contest to excel in diff coding languages like Python, Java, Web Technologies etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's feasible if students opt using merit. In case of Management quota, it depends on their 12th grade cut off. Cut off will be purely based on one's mathematics, physics and chemistry scored in twelfth grade. You can also opt for courses of your choice based on the marks obtained in your twelfth grade.

I am not quite sure on the educational loan perspective that Rajalakshmi Engineering College provides.

Gender equality is almost 50:50. There is equal strength in boys and girls. We have enough facilities and labs to provoke students to excel in all kind of futuristic advancements that not only helps them learn new things but also keeps them stay updated in the race.

Hostel Facilities

No, I were a day scholar. But hostel used to be separate for girls and boys. There is also separate hostel for first years and remaining years as first year syllabus is more or less common to all the students.

Admission

Yes I was admitted to this college during the counseling course that happened in Anna University Chennai. By then the college wasn't autonomous and it was functioning under the supervision of Amma University. I was part of counseling programme during the year 2014.

Faculty

As it prevails in all the colleges this college also has some extraordinary teachers as well as teachers who are ordinary in their teaching. Few teachers teach the subjects with lot of practical examples and makes understanding the concepts more easier. I would rate 7/10 for the faculties that REC possess in their pocket.

Here there is no gender separation like boys and girls should be seperate and stuff like that.
It is a autonomous college so courses are changing regularly with the shift in education
Here we have relative grading system therefore there is no ranking and easy to get good grades

Dislikes

We have to pay yearly fees not semester wise it difficult for low income earning families
Money is collected from students for all events happening in the college.
There is a rush for collection of fees at the start of each year and unpaid students might face absent issues

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are moderate but i don't know much about other courses but for civil engineering the average placed ctc is 3 lakh per annum one or two students got higer package but most of the students got lower package as a fresher.

It's like Schools .There will be special class if you didn't get much marks like schools .

Placement Experience:

From 5 th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements. Lots of companies. The highest package is 26 lakhs and the average package is 1.5 lakhs. 98% of students get placed. Doing my best in a career as an entrepreneur.

I got seat at srm chennai but it was too long for me and it couldnt manage the travel because i should catch the bus at morning 6 am and i will return to home around 5 50pm. So nearly 12 hours. So rejected it and choose rec chennai because it is near to my location. I will catch the bus at 6 55 am and i will come to home at 4 15 pm. I wasnt applied to other clg so there is no rejection.Simple admission process just show ur orginal 12th certificate and cutoff marks.If your abive 80% cutoff u can pay minimum donation if doesnt enough for the course which u applied. Counselling is the better way to avoid donations and cutoffs may change for the caste....Read More
