I had cleared GATE exam (2010-2011) conducted by IIT and took admission in Hyderabad Central University (HCU) in July, 2011 for completing my post graduation. I scored 98.66 percentile in GATE. After that I applied to many M.tech colleges affliated to GATE, cleared individual colleges written exam and interviews.

Internships Opportunities

ExcellentWe got a stipend of 8000/- Rs per month on clearing GATE. Many companies came for offering jobs. Some of them were At University, HSBC, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, TCS, Microsoft.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was very feasible as HCU is a central government University. There were many scholarships and rewards.Yearly it was around 46000 for M.tech.

Fees and Financial Aid

GATE passed students got scholarship of Rs. 8000/- per month. There were other scholarships also for other courses running in University and some scholarship for SC/ST.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratio Boys: Girls 10:4. We used to have various parties and functions on occasions and festivals.Various workshops and fates were held on subjects, cultural, art, etc.Girls were very safe there and could easily go anywhere even in odd hours as always security guards were piloting.

Alumni/Alumna

Through internal mails and groups students could easily be in touch to seniors and alumni. Also alumni meet were held . The seniors were usually very good and supportive. They were easily accessible and guided us regarding our caeer, interviews, presentations, jobs, electives, etc.

Exam Structure

The exams and labs were very frequent and conducted in a strict and serious fashion. There were surprise tests. Vivas and presentations were held almost every alternate week.

Faculty

5

We had faculties from HCU and IDRBT. All the faculties were post graduate and P.hd. They were specialized in their fields, full of knowledge and energy to pass their knowledge. They were very helpful and most were easily accessible. They were the true guiding lights which enabled thousand students like me to pursue their career, shape my future, achieve my goals and make my dreams come true.

Placement Experience:

To be frank enough the placement of IIT is very excellent. Not only did the industrial leader visit the campus but IIT Hyderabad also promotes start-ups to take part in the recruitment drive. That gives us an opportunity to be part of a startups group. Companies like Accenture Japan, Google, Microsoft, MTX, Rakuten, TSMC, Tech Mahindra visit the campus. The highest placement package during our batch was 55 LPA from Google and the average package was around 17.50 LPA

Remarks:

I heard they always force the students to pay the fees in time. Some times we feel egoistic, aggressive behavior among the students and lectures. In case of any adhoc work or when lectures doesn't responds in time for days together we will see impatience between the students and management. During our period, couple of lectures are changed because they are not able to co-operate with the students.
