Only thing I dislike about UOH is the political environment during election of President of student union. At that time they will campaign like anything. but it is just for one week.
Entrance Preview
University of Hyderabad takes admissions via GATE. I got score 445/1000 in GATE exam 2012. and my rank was 6630. with OBC category. For general Last student got admission was with score 510/1000.
Course Curriculum Overview
Semester system is followed. it is an autonomous university. You can take various electives subjects. I took Graph theory and color Image processing. CIP was tought by Chakravati sir. It was an awesome course.
Internships Opportunities
I join IDRBT for internship programm. the stipend amount was 8000. Apart from that there was facility of free lunch. workspace at IDRBT was good. IDRBT was established by RBI.
Placement Experience
The average package in my batch was 5 Lacks,macximus package was 15lacks by HSBC and out of 45 students 35 are placed in various software companies like IBM, TCS, Infosys, and anymore. Many start ups are also coming for campus recruitment.
College Events
"SUKOON- a cultural fest" every year in the month of March. Various technical festivals organized by software companies like Toshiba and Hitachi with name "Technology day"
Fee Structure And Facilities
Very low compare to all similar university and institutes. For Mtech it was 15000 Rs per semester. for firste semester it was approx 30,000 Rs. Mess fee is excluded. which is about 2100 Rs per month. we have to pay mess fee separately either online or offline on per month basis
Fees and Financial Aid
Various banks provide loan for this university. UOH also provides Scholarship of 1000 to all Not MTech Student. All MTech students get fellowship of 12,400 by MHRD.
Campus Life
Good place to explore yourself. You can involve in various activity like politics (Student leader election), photography, lead an event, Robotics, Programming and many more. Sports facility like badminton football and cricket is superb. tennis court is also available. sports facilities are pretty good. I Love the gym at UOH. facilities and maintenance in this gym is superb. GYM Instructor is also available in morning and evening.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are awesome but mess food is really not up to the mark. Hostels are given on sharing basis. 2 students have to share one room. there are sufficient rooms available. Mess food is very oily.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes there is an alumni meet every year in the month of September. In this meeting the share their experience of campus placements and the also trains in various skills which may require for job interviews
Exam Structure
Too much practical assignments. theory exam is easy and absolute grading. Hectic for technical students when other department students can enjoy CSE students have to solve their problem.
Faculty
All faculty have at least Masters degree from reputed universities/institutes. Those Who are Not PhD are currently pursuing PhD. Out of 30 professors in SCIS 15 are PhD from IITs/IISC.
