Remarks

Overall the college is excellent and can help anyone with genuine interest in getting world class education.

Entrance Preview

I took Amrita Entrance test and the reason i took this college over others is the excellent facilities and exposure to the outer world

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum was designed in such a way to give exposure to all other fields of study and not just the one i choose. The last year we were given option to concentrate on specific field of our choice which is very rare on other colleges

Internships Opportunities

I did internship in Infosys Technologies in the year 2011. We were trained and then was supervised to do the final project under the professors of Infosys Training academy. The stipend was Rs3000 after the accommodation and other facilities.

Placement Experience

There was 96% placements in my batch and the placement is exclusive for Amrita students. There were companies like Microsoft, Google, IBM, Infosys, CTS, Accenture, TCS who came for the placements.

College Events

4.5

College have various tech fest and celebrate almost all the cultural programs in India. One of the major event is ACM ICPC where Amrita is the host for Asia level programming contest and gives opportunity for the students to meet with students and faculties of other universities across Asia and interact with some of the leading Industry experts.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is on the upper side when compared to other universities but with the facilities and quality provided this is very less. It may not be affordable to all but this makes the university in the premium class.

Campus Life

Campus life was excellent. Students gets opportunities to follow their passion whether it be arts, science, robotics etc. There are workshops by industry experts and labs contains world class equipments. There are supervised researches under the super vision of renowned faculties and industry experts.

Hostel Facilities

Boys Hostel rooms are very spacious and is shared among 4 students. There is one bed and a study table for every student. The bathrooms are shared and is like 4 bathrooms for 4 rooms. Mess food is not of the top quality and needs improvement.

External Expense: Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni's of Amrita are there in almost all leading companies and are ready to help and guide the upcoming students. There are Alumni's in almost all the countries and share a special bond with each other

Exam Structure

Exam is structured in such a way that the students wont be burden with work and pressure. In case of failing any subject the student can redo it during vacation and not have to worry of doing it along with next year subjects

Faculty

Faculty was top notch and some of the best around the world. Most of the faculties were those who excelled in their field and was respected throughout the world for their work.

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Comprehensive review of amrita Vishwa vidyapeetam - amritapuri campus:A blend of academic Excellence and campus life

When choosing a college several factors played a role in my decision to select Amma the Vishwa vidyapeethum campus from my cyber security program over other institutions applied to. Compared with other colleges I applied to 1. VIT Vellore 2. BITS Pilani 3. SRM institute of science and technology Amrita has an excellent repetition for its faculty in cyber security. The professors are experienced and have a strong academic background along with industry exposure which was highly appealing to me. Including well accepted cyber security lapse. These lamps focus on practical penetration testing ,network security ,and ethical hacking. Amrita amrutapuri is situated in a peaceful coastal area offering a conductive environment for studies the campus life is lively with several extra curricular and co curricular activities that I found very attractive. Wet Vellore and SRM also afford good campus life but were much larger in size and I felt amritas more intimate campus would be better for personalised learning....Read More
