Course Curriculum Overview

Our University is Kerala University of Technology. Our course curriculum includes management principles, life skills, design project, design engineering, all basic engineering topics in various disciplines, and general plus core subjects of related disciplines. We have two series of tests in one semester and one-semester exam, which are conducted at the end of the semester.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement and employment opportunities are excellent. We have a placement unit that allows all students to have backlogs sometimes without backlogs. Bosch, Siemens, and Sapient are some recruiting companies.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is possible for all types of students. Our entire engineering education costs only ? 60,000. If we include hostel fees and other costs, it can cost up to four years, up to ? 100,000. I think a fee is feasible and affordable for almost every student.

Campus Life

Our academic year begins on August 1 and ends last week in June. There are many activities, including Onam celebrations, Sports Day, Holi celebrations, Teachers 'Day, Independence Day, Technical Festival (Visual), Cultural Fest (Dhwani), and Freshers' Day (Disha).

Admission

The Government of Kerala is conducting the examination of the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Examination (KEM). There are two papers from 900, two for Paper One for Physics Chemistry, and two for Mathematics Paper. College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, is the best college of all engineering colleges in Kerala (excluding Nit Calicut). Entrance here requires a rank of less than 5000, and the top layer of engineers will graduate from here.

Faculty

College faculty are government employees who enter college by writing government exams (PSCs), which can be challenging to crack. Also, many teachers have a Ph.D. At least M.Tech from reputed companies like IT or NITs.

Experiences so far

Likes

My experience at lissah has been mixing of challenges. Psychology depart has supportive teachers and classes is good
Campus is peaceful and it’s so greenery there are opportunities to take part in different academics
I also like that the psychology department has its own lab and practical exposure and Lissah is well known for psychology itself

Dislikes

I feel that there could be more programmes activities and opportunities for students to make college life
Location could feel like quiet and it’s not in town area
Those who prefer more active atmosphere I would not recommend here

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose bsc psychology because I was interested in understanding human behaviour. The curriculum covers different areas of psychology along with subjects such as major psychology minor statistics and physiology then English mdc . Since I am still in my first year I have only experienced the initial part of course

Likes

The campus is well maintained and is clean
Teachers are willing to give individual attention if needed
Above average food is provided in canteen

Dislikes

Lack of campus life as college is strict
Majority of the staff members are the type to hold a grudge against you
Spoon feeding students and not allowing them to think and improvise accordingly

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from semester 6 onwards. But campus placement for civil engineering is fairly low. But companies like Aarbee Structures Pvt Ltd has offered jobs for my mates

Is engineering here worth it?

Likes

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

The college doesn't provide any pool options for swimming lessons
Teachers get changed every now and then this makes the continuity of the lessons very hard
