Remarks

Being the part of a university is really a good experience rather than and private college. Because universities are full of boiling blood, active politics, social actives, walk for peach, walk for protest, even strikes also.So it encourages us to say NO for what is wrong and say YES for what is good and revolutionary. This really plays a role in our life when we face some social problems. These activities teaches us how to manage to a crowd, how to deal with people. In all these sense my department and my university was remember able and remarkable.

Entrance Preview

Dr. H.S. Gour is a central University, which conduct its own test and then take admissions. I secured AIR 63 Rank in its entrance test and then got admission in most popular department- "Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences" and completed B. Pharma. Dr. H.S. Gour was first university of Madhya Pradesh and 3rd most famous Pharma-department in India. Hence i opted this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

B. Pharm was a course of 4 years contains 8 semesters. First 2 semesters were all about the basics of maths and biology and about basic drugs and medicines. 2nd year was all about the How drug/medicine react in body and how body respond to a medicine--Biopharmaceutics-- and about natural herbs which can be used as drugs e.g. Tulasi, neem this was Pharmacognosy subject. 3rd and 4th year was about very deep and scientific understanding of drug action to body at molecular and cellular level that subject called Pharmacology and how companies manufacture drugs in bulk this subject called Pharmaceutics. In 7th semester we visited to many pharma companies including Ranbaxy and in 8th sem along with mentioned subjects one project for theoretical knowledge building and understating.

Internships Opportunities

In Bachelors stipend was not provided in a normal case. Those who belongs to SC, ST, OBC class got the Govt. scholarship as fee waiver. Internship trend was not available their and direct placement after B. Pharma was also not provided. Still high quality education level maintained.

Placement Experience

2.5

Many student want to pursue their carrier in Pharma and want to go for higher education so companies and placements are not required after B. Pharma still some students tried for off campus placement, Most of us got Govt. Pharmacist job.

College Events

4

It was full of celebrations. Every year there is a annual event which took appox. 1 month preparation. 3rd year students of that batch organised with help of juniors. It was really a fantastic event for whole day along with 15 days sports events and in last cultural eve with prize distribution. HODs of all the departments are invited along with their families but the main attraction always remains Vice Chancellor and registrar in that event as guest. Apart from this Teachers day, holi, Farewell party, fresher party and Saraswati puja all these events celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it was Govt. university so fee was genuine. It was 15000 per semester. Means total 1.2 Lakh for all 4 year course. This contains tuition fees, examination fees and for laboratory maintenance also.

Fees and Financial Aid

No. It was not provided as it was a Govt organization. Still there are loan available from banks. And Govt. scholarship for category students like SC, ST, OBC then it is provided to them. Also if you cracked any exam or arranged any scholarship you can get it. As i got more than 85% in 12th class Central Govt. provided me 10000 Rs per year as scholarship.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was amazing and really very enthusiastic because all students were part of student union and they participate actively in social activities and University functions and cultural events. As this age is full of masti and games so lot many inter and intra departmental and inter-university games competitions had been there specially interdepartmental cricket match. We all enjoyed in all of them. Laboratory activities were too hectic but very important.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels facility was provided for boys and girls both separately. It was not so good and not up to the standards. Food quality in the boys hostel was not very good, and quality of room was not so good, they were with sharing. But for girls, hostels were good with nice food and nice environment.

Alumni/Alumna

As it was 4 year course then due to some formal introduction and cultural involvement of all students we developed very deep and strong network within the department and to other relevant department also. We also have a strong neural network to our alumni as they also come some time to out department. Due to these network we exposed to lot many learning activities.

Exam Structure

It was very hectic with 3 quizzes and 2 mid term exams and 1 final exam. These all for therory n same for practicals also. Means total 12 exams per subject conducted in 1 semester (5 months). If 5 subjects are there total exams would be 60.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty was very known and giants of pharma-academia. Standards was very highly maintained in terms of theoretical understanding and practical implementations and learning. College was really up to the mark and well known in Pharma field.
