Remarks

SRM Dental College is definitely a great place to be. Infrastructure is great and the knowledge you gain from the course is definitely worth it. Students are friendly and opportunities after graduation are endless.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is pretty detailed. It contains theoretical knowledge like anatomy subjects but also practical knowledge. There are specific programs that you can opt for that can give you a more hands-on experience. They have regular internal exams on the theories. depending on the batch intake.

Placement Experience

Quite a few students have actually landed some roles in the dental field like clinic head and so on. There is also an internship that BDS students must complete, and it is required by the college. This internship can be completed in many dental settings.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are high. The tuition fee for just the BDS course is around 4,10,000 lakh rupees but it doesn't cover the costs of hostel, books and other fees. The book fees are 10,000, hostel fees are 67,000 and mess fees are 60,000.

Campus Life

SRM Dental College is actually quite keen on sports. They organize a lot of these sporting events and they have really good girls and boys sports team. And, there are lots of cultural events on campus and the social life is never boring.

Hostel Facilities

The hostels are pretty good and they are available for both boys and girls. They have most facilities for the students and there is also a general store available for students to make any specific purchases. The hostel fees are Rs. 67,000 per year.

Admission

You can gain admission into the BDS course at SRM College in Chennai by first making sure that you have at least 50% marks or higher in Biology, Physics and Chemistry subjects. Also, you can be qualified by NEET marks in the undergraduate category.

The faculty is pretty eager and they are also well-experienced with dental work. They sometimes go above and beyond to deliver their teaching and want students to be proactive. Teachers also provide help with clinical aspects.

Likes

They allow all cultural events.They also conduct events in the college

They increase penalty if students dont pay the sem fees on time then they also increase the exam fees from sem to sem

Overall Good Experience at EEC

Likes

good infrastructure, clean campus and well equipped classrooms and labs.
Faculty members are supportive and explain concepts clearly with practical examples.
Good placement opportunities, career guidance and opportunities to participate in activities.

Dislikes

The workload can be huge sometimes, especially during examinations and project submissions.
some subjects could include more practical and industry-oriented learning
More campus activities and student interactions opportunities would improve campus life.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Life in HIMT

Likes

With regards to training and placements the college is very good . All training as per DGMA and IMU is strictly followed and the placements for B.Sc is 90% and above . The faculties and instructors in the college are well experienced and skilled.
The college is strict regarding alcohol and smoking and it is not allowed inside campus and regular alcohol checks are conducted . Discipline and safety is the first priority for the college.
Classrooms are air conditioned. Hostel rooms are good . Any defects in rooms or any places inside college which are addressed are rectified.

Dislikes

College doesn't conduct inter college events . Internal events are very less . The few events conducted in college has also many restrictions.
Galley food can be better . College canteen is not good

Placement Experience:

The placements for B.Sc Nautical science in HIMT is 90% and above . The placement drive usually starts in the 2nd year (4th semester) and for girls 1st year (2nd semester). The companies which usually come for placements in my college are MOLMI,MOLTA, ZODIAC,SANMAR,GENCO, ONESEA etc ... The package for cadets differ from company to company and type of vessel.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

LIFE IN HIMT COLLEGE

Likes

System and the Rules followed in this college
Hierarchy system such as committe heads, cadet captains etc
Infrastructure mainly the football and cricket turf

Dislikes

Punishments, because you will get punished when one of your batchmate did anything wrong
Compared to other colleges himt is not celebrating that much for festivals
Regular musters, You will have to attend minimum 3 muster a day

Placement Experience:

I am placed in MOLMI. And sincerely thank HIMT for the placement. The other companies who Recruits cadets from HIMT are Zodiac, MOLTA, Sanmar, Genco, Ozler ONE shipping etc . HIMT have good placement records of 100%, if you have no arrears then for sure will get placed

My great experience in HIMT

all staffs are we experienced in their field and good in explaining, very friendly
hostel is well maintained and college is always clean
everything works in college based upon the review system. so any issues will resolve quickly

Placement Experience:

HIMT has good placements rates to all the batches, espically for GME they are doing well good. many gets placements in first semester itself. many big gaint companies in marine industry are approching to HIMT for placements.

Exams can be usually easy as this is a five year integrated course
Some faculties are friendly as they themselves are fresh graduates

Dislikes

But most faculties come off very rude and disrespectful
The office people are not at all approachable
The student login has so many glitches which cause delays in downloading of hallticket

Course Curriculum Overview:

There is one end semester exam and 2 CIAs in one year.Endsem is for 100m and CIAs are 40marks each . There is one assignment for each CIA for 10m each. So totally both the CIA together is 100 marks. Then the average of CIA and end semester is calculated if 40 or above it's pass otherwise you have to reappear. The subjects are not at relevant as computer science keeps changing regularly.

This college has a good faculty to educate the students.

This college doesn't has a free wifi connection
Hostel food is average in taste. Regular time table will be followed.

I got this college through Mci. The campus was beautiful also after asking to the students over there I got to know that the whole course will be in English so no issue of language in teaching and also the teachers are friendly and supporting and there is no ragging in the campus.

It's a beautiful campus where you can learn and study, its pretty serious in academics and work aspect which is eventually good in bringing up the best dentist in you, it was private entrance during my time but now you have to give NEET and qualify for the seat, admissions are open after the NEET-UG results, well the campus spreads to one of the biggest in India with a very large number of people with mixed culture and the exposure u get there is tremendous, there is this site called srm.edu.com which provides everything u need about the college, top-rated private university in India, with best infrastructure and amenities, I feel the single brand back of the college as the extracurricular opportunities are less when you compare the other colleges of the university...Read More
