Course Curriculum Overview

Pursing my interest, chemistry from this college was really helpful for me because the structure of the course for the duration of six semesters made me learn the concepts in such a way that made me pursue the field of research for my higher studies through which I will be able to serve various industries.

Placement Experience

3.5

Talking about the job opportunities, the education and training was provided in such a manner that it can open many doors for job perspective in various industries as well as for higher studies specially in the area of research.

College Events

4

Professors from different departments collaborate in the fields of research with international community of countries and scientists. During my session , there was a workshop I attended which was on "" cyber crime and safety of women"" in collaboration with Asansol woman police station & green club of Raniganj

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees of the course was ?2010/- per year which made the total fees as ? 6030/- So a college with this affordable fee structure can give alot to the life and career of a student with low income family.

Fees and Financial Aid

Talking about scholarship , then I would say this college makes education an easy reach to the students with big dreams and less affordability like me , as I was provided with the fee concession under swami Vivekananda merit cum- mean scholarship.

Campus Life

Sports was something I was really into and our college avail the indoor and outdoor games. Each year our college organises the annual athletic meet in which I always used to participate. Our instructor , Mr. Prafulla Dutta is trained in football , volleyball and athletics and I would say he was the best coach we could have got.

Admission

My admission process was quite easy as the enrollments were done just on merit basis. They just asked to submit the original marksheet of intermediate along with the application form. I took admission in this college because of its ranking and the structure they follow.

Faculty

4

The faculty members of my department were very understanding and supportive. The way they used to teach showed their deep knowledge and interest in the subject. They made us learn things practically in the labs which is really important to have practical knowledge rather than just reading books.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
