Good faculty and quality of education but less placements

Good college is great in terms of study and material being offered to us the facilities provides to us of ro and 24/7 electricity and water wifi campus Good interaction ability building in student. Bad core companies placements is less hostel rooms for 2nd 3rd year not up to the mark of construction.

I opted for JEE MAINS exam previously known as AIEEE. I got 55657 air rank and got 120 marks in JEE and 92 percent in 12th standard and the combination of both let me have the seat in this college. It is the oldest government aided college of Punjab from 1956. I opted for mechanical engineering as I am crazy about improving efficiencies of automobiles and have a craze for cars. Nothing much about interview just an online counselling of PTU is through which we fill the choices of colleges we want and PTU provides it accordingly to the merit basis.

Internships in our college are good but these are mostly for cse and civil students rest all are provided internships outside the colleges in any industry with the help of college training and placement cell they help the students to find internships on good stipends provided to the about 10000 pm. In college cse and civils are provided with rs 7000 pm.

Max students are placed about 120 out of 180 but this is nt sure that all are placed in core companies core companies take ajuat 5 to 6 student hey desire for like sain gobain isuzu,mahindra and mahindra eastmen but rest are placed in othe comapnies in mass placements as in infosis and tcs like thia ear 2015. In 2013 highest package went upto rs 17 lakh for production and 1 lac for mechancial and this is the reason I opted for this college too.

The events are provided with fervour and enthusiasm. The cultural feats include ATHARVA help the previous week is the most wonderful cultural fest held with students winning lots of cash prizes and apart from cultural many fun event a are also held in which attractive gifts are being provides like t shirts pendrives prizes and much more.

Fee structure for the 1st semester is about 50000 as it includes a refundable security of rs 6000 and library funds and all other type of funds for general category and for sc,st fee is rs 4000 for 1st semester.

Another gill quota is also there in which fee is rs 20000 for gill residents as college land is donated by gill village. Fee for the rest of semesters varies from 39000 to 42000 for even and odd semesters respectively and for st or sc it is about 4000 to 5000 and gill quota again 18000 to 20000.

Gender ratio I think is 1 is to 1 as in cse all the girls are there almost and in mechanical all boys are there but in all other streams there is a combination of both Hostel parties are often very classy and many surprises are there which we haven't thought of dj parties are also one of them. Workshops on various social issues are oftenly conducted by college faculty to make us aware about the ill effects of what wrong we are doing in today's life.

Hostel for the 1st year is newly constructed and is very well maintained and the hostel mess is also quite good in terms of food they provide sweet dish they provide. Problem for 2,3rd year students is hostels rooms which are very old and hence doesn't look nice but in 3rd year single room is provided to single student so that one is not disturbed by anyone.

Faculty of the college is extremely good and mainly mechanical teachers are qualified with post graduation from IITs the quality of education is good.
