Remarks

Ibs has shifted to new facility now so wont comment on the infrastructure but the faculty do have to work on their knowledge delivering skills. Placement will automatically improve if they start producing matured managers.

Entrance Preview

I took CAT and IBSAT I took both but the one they looked at was IBSAT. Dont remember the exact score but it was quite good to get into one of the center they have. Why I did opt for this college. Actually the scenario was that they opted for me. Not that I am that brilliant and all that but they have a very good layout designed for their admission process. I am talking about the last date they have to accept or decline their proposal. It comes way before other B-schools even start their admission process. And when it comes to a person like me who has already dropped a year for getting into a better B-School it was a nice trap.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is great. In fact ICFAI University is known for their research and curriculum. But I should say what is the use of such good thing if we do not have the sources to pass them to students. I am talking about the faculty out there. They were much more focused on theories and grading than the research.

Internships Opportunities

Nope hardly 2-3 % of student got that and that too without stipend. Others worked on their own to get that. The companies that came to campus were also focused on picking marketing students.

Placement Experience

2

We passed out in the year of recession as they say. But I donot see recession in the campus of IIM, FMS or for that matter in any other top B-School. Ok, I agree that I am not talking about my cadre but at least we deserve a chance to prove. IBS did not even provide us any chance. Almost all the companies were coming up with marketing profile and IBS (Pune) made it compulsory for all the students (all stream) to appear for the process. I was surprised to see Finance and HR students going for marketing jobs.

College Events

3.5

We had few parties organised by the student themselves with very less college support. We also had an annual fest i was Dance Coordinator in that. Management and technical fest were missing which I actually wanted to experience. Always wanted to share my experience with students from different colleges and regions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Looking at the infrastructure i do not find the fee structure justified. They had two towers across the street that's it.

Fees and Financial Aid

They have 2-3 scholarship available. One is for needy people which amount to 200000 at that time. And the other one is academic which was given every semester. As I mentioned I got one academic scholarship.

Campus Life

1.5

Campus life was ok and that was because of the diversity we had. People from different region, different stream, different experience. We had a good mix. Not much of extracurricular activities. Most of them were managed by the student with very less support from the college faculty.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Very few rooms available in the hostel and that too is not a hostel. They are flats converted into hostel. They have different hostel for Boys and Girls quite strict on that front. No mess in the hostel one has to look nearby restaurant or the tiffenwala for food. We lived in flat, average rent was 7-8 thousand for a 2BHK.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are very helpful. I never had a chance to interact with one but my friends did and they mentioned me that they are very helpful. Some alumni do come to the campus for placement too.

Exam Structure

Exams were frequent and yes they actually left us with hectic schedule. But my personal interest was in knowing the practical application of the theory they were teaching which few of our guest lecturers covered. But again more focus was on grading.

Faculty

2.5

As I mentioned in previous question the faculty was the loophole. They are qualified but they lack exposure. And as I said what is the use of such good curriculum if we do not have good faculty to pass them to students. They were much more focused on theories and grading than the research.

Placement Experience:

The placements depend upon which Specialization you're in. If you're a marketing student there will be lots of good companies coming in for placements followed by finance and then HR. You become eligible for placement from 3rd semester. Companies such as Deloitte, PWC, TCS, HCL, etc. visit the campus for placements and offer a good amount of Packages.

College management is not that good, which I felt is need to be improved. making everything student centric makes it difficult for students as well as college to be organised.

We learned a lot from the curriculum and the college itself. My journey was a mixed bag of feelings with many sweet and sour moments. The classroom sessions were fun and so were the field visits and management activities like webinars or mock marketing competitions.

College is almost good .this for those who want only masters but no placement .if you also want to get placed in any company need only degree ur welcome. The management is worst the nonteaching staff doesn't know how to talk with students especially the admission office. I here declare whatever I have seen and suffered I presented my view about this college to you, not it's your choice to go to heaven like symbiosis or choose hell. I was misguided and helpless so I came here means I got fewer marks in a snap so please students appear for snap sincerely.

The university gives you a great exposure to shape up your life for a great future. There's absolutely no racism and everyone is treated equally. This is the only institute in pune where girls and boys are found in almost equal numbers. In fact girls are encouraged to become entrepreneurs.
