Remarks
Before taken admission in Isabella Thoburn College, I had taken care of many things like the environment there, teaching staff, etc. The environment of the college is very good. The teaching staff is also very good, teachers try to give as much knowledge as they can. Their teaching methodology is far better than teachers from other colleges. From giving notes to filling communication gap between students and teachers, everything is just commendable. Apart from studies, college authorities also take care in overall development of a child by making it sure that students take part in extra curricular activities as well. Also there are separate societies for different interests like dance society, music society, rock band, nukkad natak and many more.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course syllabus was totally updates. Syllabus was according to what the University has prescribed. We were provided with enough industrial exposure. Faculties of our college were very good. Though, all the faculties whether it was economics, English, psychology, etc, all were very good but my favourite was faculty of economics department. Teachers were very friendly. Apart from course they teach us about different aspects of society as well. Different webinar were conducted during Covid 19 lockdown situation. An initiative was also put by the head of our economics department, initiative named E-padho where we have to teach students of UP board through online mode who were finally not stable and I was a mentor there, I used to teach maths. It was a learning experience for me and this too is a reason why I really like economics faculty because of them I got a chance to be a part of such a wonderful initiative and also I had got experience of teaching students online.
Placement Experience
During a year, 5 to 6 company do visit in our college. Around 70 to 80 percent of students are placed. Our alumni on a average is good in networking students for job. I don't know much about the placement process but as far as I have seen and heard from other students, for placements our college is good, not really good but good. By our batch mates we with our head of economics department have started an initiative named E-padho where we got experience of teaching students through online mode.
College Events
Our college, Isabella Thoburn College is very good for extra curricular activities. Every year though many events are conducted but the main one is AURA which is hosted by our college every year. There students from other colleges come, they take part in different programs as well. AURA us considered to be the very important and big fest of our college. Every year it is celebrated with great zest and enthusiasm. For judges, they don't put people as judge from our college, different people, not from our known college, are put as judge for the events. Many reputable people are given the seat of judge for the judgement of events so that honest decision could be given and also names of college are not revealed by the students so as to get the fair judgement.
Campus Life
The infrastructure of our college is really very good. Though we may find that equipments and other stuff in colleges are there but they are found to be damaged or broken and stuff like that. But this is not the story of our college. We have good and proper equipments in the lab. We have Wi-Fi facility as well in our college. Talking about the size of the Library, there are separate libraries for different streams. Like there is separate, a very big library for BA students, different subjects divided in different areas, that is a one storey Library. Then, there is different library for commerce students in bcom department, then there is a different library for bsc students. Taking about sports facility, we have a very big field in our college, a basketball court as well. We have different teams for different sports and teachers too for the sports as well. We have N. C. C. too in our college.
