GCET, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY

Remarks

Management lacks support for student grievance addresal. They expect money to be paid upfront. But that too is cumbersome lengthy process. Even with all the technology the process is very slow, very frustrating. I am saying about my experience. May be it changed now that it is private university.

Entrance Preview

I took admission through UPTU. My rank was in 19k. The admission was through UPTU counselling only. Now Sharda University takes its own entrance. I chose IT because I had interest in computers but CS was not available on my rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum is good. UPTU mandates 6/7 subject each semester with one managerial or environmental subject.

Internships Opportunities

College internships were restricted at my time to Delhi Ncr. Most students had to arrange internship on their own. Not many or specific company to mention. Stipend information not available.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements at my batch were slow. Syntel took few students at 3.5 lpa or more. Apart from Syntel college arranged for TCS, Infosys and other IT companies. Packages not revealed. ITC took few at 6lpa.

College Events

University celebrates annual fest by name CHORUS which invites celebrities and allow students to participate in 3 days of different activities. Nukkad Natak, fashion show, singing, lan gaming are part of the fest apart from photography, poster making etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

UPTU fees was feasible. It costed around 80k per annum on average. Hostel mess was another 30k i guess.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am unaware of the scholarship or loans availability.

Campus Life

4.5

My class and even batch had gender ratio of 2:1. Hostel parties are not allowed. Workshops can be attended or arranged by prior notification. Cultural activities are done on initiative basis. No bias on caste color sex ethnicity etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are normal. Nothing hi fi. Mess is good with breakfast lunch dinner. The fees at my time was 30k per head for triple seater room.

External Expense: Rs. 4000 - Rs. 7000

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors were good during college times. I am not in touch with most of them but few are good friends and pretty awesome in their own lives.

Exam Structure

Exams are scheduled at other colleges. In uptu. In sharda they conduct them internally. The frequency is biannual. They were not hectic to me or the students who wished to learn. I am unaware of current situation.

Faculty

The faculty of my college was knowledgeable with blend of young and experienced teachers. Overall the education quality is good for students who wish to study.

Overall Feedback for College - Admission , Placement , Course , Faculty , Events

Likes

the security is nice at my college like proper cctv and guards , apart from that labs , and my dept is too good. Ac classroom and labs
They have provided average placement like most of companies are mass hiring like tcs and accenture ..and only few companies come to offer big package
Infrastructure is good but there is need of reconstruction at some places the water is ticking in rain season continuously, and curriculum is okay okay not that much relevant to industry , they taught text books rather than the real practical cases

Dislikes

The examination checking - the student who is cr or having any relation with teachers got highest marks without writing the answer properly
The food canteen first of all the canteen is off from the past 1 or 2 year and now it reopen but it sells dirty food , waste foods
The college professor support , they are not that much supportive

Course Curriculum Overview:

coding I am interested in coding that why I offer this course It provide some courses but not all courses are related to real world they have to use practical examples and make students aware of the real industry According to me the time and frequency is okay of exam

I have applied for Bihar State Nalanda college, chandi. It gave me aerospace engineering. I didn't choose that because their course curriculum with their faculties and college culture is not fit for getting placement. I wanted some placement oppurtunities through my college and GCET is suitable for it because of their location and college culture. My admission process of my college is through direct admission as well as UPTAC counselling. Direct admission is for those who have low JEE ranks and outside of UP and are early comers. Counselling is for merit based admission for UP students generally with better JEE ranks than direct admission students....Read More
