Remarks

Vasavi College of Engineering is one of most reputed collegs in Telangana. College is known for its placements. Faculty is good and the academic standards are good too. The admission process is simple there are four ways to get into Vasavi, one is through conviner quota(TS EAMCET), second one through JEE MAINS marks(B-category), thrid one is NRI quota, and the last is spot admission. Academically the college standards are excellent. But when it comes to extracurricular activities Vasavi is not the best. College doesn't have a good play ground. College management do not encourage students to play sports at all. It's the only con of the college, otherwise it's very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

IT is one of the leading courses in the market and I also like to do a professional job in a IT company, hence I've choosen Information Technology. The number of faculty are good. I exactly don't have an Idea of the ratio. The way faculty teach is not so good. They follow traditional teaching methods which are not so effective. Some of them are good. We need do a lot of self learning. We have exams semester wise i.e., once in every six months. The paper standard is good and it's not so easy to pass the exams unless you work hard.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Yes, there are many companies that provide interships to our college students. Companies like Amazon, Cisco offer a stipend of 60,000 per month. Other companies like Oracle, NCR, Factset offer a package of 30,000-60,000 per month every year. There are companies which offer a stipend of 10,000- 20,000 per month. Mostly students get the role of Associate software Engineer or Quality engineer. We do many projects right from the 2nd year which gives a lot of knowledge and very much helpful during the placements.

Placement Experience

4

As I said earlier, Vasavi College of Engineering is known it's placements. From the beginning of the 4th year i.e., from 7th semester students are eligible for placements. Every year around 60 companies visit the college and almost all the students get placed in any of those companies. Big named companies like Amazon, ServiceNow, Oracle, TCS, L & T, Accenture and many more visit the college every year. The highest package offered is 22 LPA by Amazon and 21 LPA by Service Now. Every year 85% and more students get placed during the Campus placements. I want work in the software field for a year or two and start a business on my own.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for a student with no scholarship is 9700 per annum. Students with scholarship need to pay Rs. 10,000 as University fee. There wouldn't be any irregular fee hikes. Government of Telangana provides merit scholarship for students who secure ranks below 10,000 in TS EAMCET. I exactly do know about the financial assistance they provide since I haven't tried it any time. Recently I got Placed in L&T Infotech with a pay package of 5 Lakhs per annum.

Campus Life

3

Every year in the month of March annual fest is organised for 3 days which is known as "Euphoria". Tech fest is on day 1 followed by traditional day and 3rd day is for DJ night. There are good number of books available in the library and it's a peaceful place to learn. If you're a sports person I definitely not suggest Vasavi College to you. College gives least priority to sports. There a clubs under extracurricular activities like Film Club, Dramatics Club, Arts Club etc. Where we can learn and enjoy. And also there is NSS group in the college which does some good things like teaching the poor government students near the college and provides support to them.

Other Applied Colleges

CBIT | CSE OR IT

My rank wasn't good for me to get into that college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
