Anonymous's Review On Coochbehar Government Engineering College, Cooch Behar

Because I always wanted to do engineering through govt college and this institute and appeared for wbjee and got a merit rank. Through counselling I got admission in this college and it is closest to my house rather than other engineering colleges. Being a new engineering college it is raising up it's reputation and education through its talented and experienced profeesors. So I got admitted in this college.

I am doing my b.tech in mechanical engineering department. Our university has updated the syllabus in the previous year and it is more updated. Our college has a big academic building and all the facilities are good. We have very talented and experienced profeesors, many of them are PhD. They teaches in a good way so that students can understand. All the facilities including workshop, practical materials, study materials are good. Profeesors are very friendly and trying so hard to get e good reputation of our college.

As our college is new and this year graduated our first batch. There is few on campus placement. CEAT, TCS, WIPROO, etc companies visited. But thorough off campus placement many students got placed. The highest package of 10 lakh per annum availed by CSE department. About 50% students of all departments are placed. But need to improve placement facilities.

Being a technical college it holds many cultural things. There is a big annual feast run by our seniors and the students. All the students participates here with all the cultural things like drama, dance, recitations, coding competitions, robotics competitions and many others. Festivals like saraswati puja, holi, teachers day, world environment day, the tree plantation programmes, social awareness are there in our college. You can express yourself here.

Our college allows only one scholarship. Student can apply for only one scholarship. I have availed the OASIS scholarship and many friends availed the SVMCM scholarship. Through it is a govt institution, it has much less fees. So I don't think that the bank loan is needed.

Our college has a big play ground inside our college campus. Sports facilities are very good. There are all annual tournaments including football, cricket, volleyball. Seniors held the tournaments and all the departments and years participate here.The whole college is under wifi connections but the wifi has not much speed. There is a big library in our college, all the important books of our courses are present here. This library has a big reader room so that anyone can read books. The presence of lab equipments are not so good. All the things are here but some of them are spoiled.

Though our college is newly constructed there is a beautiful and big hostel in our college. The room are so clean and hygienic. But there is no seats for first year students, the building is under construction. But it predicted that it will be ready in 2020. The average PG's cost is 4500 and average rental cost is 2500.
