Remarks

Very good college great knowledgeable and helpful faculty good infrastructure with new building professional management upto mark coursed and curriculum overall good college.

Entrance Preview

In 1992, BE admission used to happen on the basis of marks scored in Physics chemistry and maths in 12th standard board examination. There use to be no separate entrance exam. I scored 91% in these 3 subjects. This colleges was having 2 options 1 Electronics 2. Conrtruction In early nineties electronics was considered as premium stream. So first preference use to be electronics.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It was very good curriculum as per specification of Mumbai University. Fisrt year was common for all streams second year onwards specialisation courses for various stream were part of course. In final year we have elective subjects where we need to select between 3 subjects.

Internships Opportunities

No there was no intership at that point for the students. However college use to provide us introduction letter and we use to approach all the companies in vicinity for internship.

Placement Experience

1

Only One company has come for campus which I remember clearly HR Johnson. However lot of students didnt prefer it as it was tiles company and unknown brand atleast to us. Packages was very low at that point of time.

College Events

2.5

There use to annual event which consist of cultural events fashion shows, dance sports we had cricket box tournament one year i recall however these events were not very big at that point of time. College use to run in old building which was not having proper facilities. However in the final year we shifted to new building which was very well build with all facility.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee was Rs. 10000 per year which was big at that point of time for someone who hails from middle class family. This was combine fees for 2 semester. other than this there use to be term fees examination fees and miscellaneous activity fees overall it was manageable. However there were other expenses for various projects, lab which use to burden the student.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship at that point of time was offered by college. Ho ever education loan was available from many PSU Banks at that point of time. However rate of interest was very high in those days.

Campus Life

3.5

Engineering courses were most dominated by male students at that point of time. However things had started changing from our batch. And we experience female participation increasing with every year. Very few extra curricular activities were available. Students use to come from diversified economic background, religion. However everyone has freedom it was unbiased institute.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

College was not offering any Hostel facility at that point of time. However there were few students who were not from Mumbai. College is located in residential Hub of Mumbai which was having good connectivity by both road and train. In case any one unable to find accommodation nearby could easily get in other parts of Mumbai and can travel to college easily.

Exam Structure

There were total eight semesters exams both written and oral. Oral exams were based on term work, Lab work. Journal completion use to be most hectic exercise of entire course. One day before oral exam day use to be worst nightmare. we use to wait for entire day for our turn. Written exams were like any other examination.

Admission

During those days there was no centralised admission process in Maharashtra. Students use to approach all the engg college separetely. Get their admission form . Need to fill forms for all colleges and submit before due date. Then each college merit list use to be published. along with schedule of batches of student selected and waiting list. We group of friend use to approach daily these colleges to see the movement in merit lists. Those were not days of mobile phones and internet.Only physical visit was only source .Even information non landline were also not entertained. Once one get selected , he was called for interview and he need to pay fees in 3 days time.At that time fee for year was Rs. 10000, which was huge in those days.Once fees is paid admission was confirmed.

Faculty

4

Entire faculty was very good for eng drawing we had renowned Prof M.B SHAH who was visiting faculty. Prof Kotak was their for electronics. PK Nair was awesome in elecctronics. Singh sir for chemistry . JP Singh for Mechanics. Mini Mathews was very good for electronics subjects.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
