GOOD ASPECTS: The college is too good and the faculty is very helpful. Separate hostels for both girls and boys with all the facilities. The campus is lush green and the new campus is underway. BAD ASPECTS: As such there are no bad aspects. I prefer this college as this college comes in top 5 in all Delhi architecture colleges and comes directly under GGSIPU which is a government University.
I chose this course because I wanted to know about more and more buildings. Faculty student ratio is 4:40 Faculty is well qualified, from SPA'S, IIT KHARAGPUR, CEPT etc. Exams are always on time. STUDIO subject had practicals in the form of juries and theory subjects had normal exams.
Many students are enrolled as interns all over India in private companies and firms. Projects are done according to the firm or company like on which project that firm/ company is working on. Tasks are given in a day to day basis as per the project.
5th year is for internships. After the internship, some companies come. Architecture is a course where there are no in campus placement. But sometimes the Highest package would be approx 3L per annum and the lowest would be 1.5L.
Fees is very low as compared to other colleges as this comes directly under GGSIPU which is a government University i.e 84,000 scholarships are given every year and financial assistance is also given to the students from EWS.
There are many fests which are conducted like the main fest ANUGOONJ which always held in February. Also, every year the architecture department has its own Diwali fest which is too good. All books are available in the library and there is also a separate library for B.arch department. Basic amenities in the classroom are provided like smartboards, air conditioner, drafting tables etc. There is a football ground, basketball courts, tennis courts and many other areas for sports and other extracurricular activities.
There were no group discussion or interview questions. The admission is through entrance test i.e NATA. U should have scored at least 50% in boards and 50% in NATA to be eligible for admission in GGSIPU Preparation for this entrance test is not so complicated. Basic aptitude, drawing and PCM should one know thoroughly.
The college is a govt one. So the administration is a but slow. However the major management is carried by the student body, so it is efficient.
I opted for architecture in order to contribute to the developing society and country. SPA DELHI is the best institution in India for this course. I appeared for the JEE paper 2 exam, and scored 99.8 percentile to secure a place in this prestigious institution.
Overall, there are lots of negative remarks on SPA DELHI. They do not even provide basic facilities for the fees they take. Even what little facilities that exists are very poorly maintained. The lifts does not work more often than not, the coolers for drinking water are outdated and filters unchanged, fire extinguishers outdated, poor parking facilities, no grounds for sports related activities, no air conditioners in the classroom for the unbearable Delhi heat, very poor provision of funds, non-existent placement cells, and the lists goes on.
Everything is just good college life great because its senior- Junior interactions /Relationship. Faculty members are very helpful.but due to its old infrastructure it is losing its reputation gradually.
According to F/O Architecture, every student gets multiple option to choose, which firms he/she wants to join.
Every student gets internship. Their stipend varies depending on their portfolios and academic achievements. Stipend 10000-25000 per month.
