Every private college has bad and good aspects. My college is no different. It is the first private college in West Bengal. The best part of this college is the faculty. Most of them are friendly towards the students. They will help you with your progress. Now, when it comes to the bad part it's visible as well. Placement is a major concern here. Only the best students get the best placement opportunity. Others just participate in the average opportunity. There are many ways you can get into college. The first one is jexpo. Another one is merit base which is most likely to be known as management quota. I took admission on 10th May 2011. I always loved the electrical part of the physics books. So I am always interested in this. There are lots of job opportunities as well. The student-teacher ratio is not that high. There are enough teachers for each subject. In our section, there were 45 students. Most of the faculty completed or pursuing their masters from top colleges in the country. All are quality teachers and very professional. You have to give credit to the management here. Exams are always on time here. Even the unit test has been held on time here. It's not that difficult to pass but you have to be regular in class. Otherwise, they will not give you attendance marks for sure.

From the 5th semester, students get opportunities from various companies organized by the college. The highest package was 4.8 lakh per annum and the average was between 2.4 to 2.8 lakh annually. Almost 90 percent of students get placements, from here. I got two offers from here as well but I opted for higher studies.

Fees hikes don't happen randomly. It's completely depending on the market and management. My total fees we're around 78 thousand. There are many scholarship features in college. You can participate there as well. You can talk to management for financial assistance. Many banks are aligned with the college. I was offered in polycab wires with a CTC of 2.4 lakh.

Every January college arranges an annual major tech fest as well. The name of the tech fest is technics. The available number of books in the college library use huge. All the classrooms and workshops are filled with required amenities be it any kind of machine or modern blackboard. Every year management organizes cricket and football tournament. Few Facebook groups are run by students like heartbeats of Smit and many such.
