IIT BHU, B.Tech, Chemical Engineering

Remarks

In our department, the entire floor is devoted to labs for doing experiments regarding the subject. Unlimited Wi-Fi is provided in all the academic buildings as well as hostels and mess. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, sockets under every bench and are huge enough to accommodate around 150-170 students. Institute has a central library with numerous books of every subject possible, and it also has access to various journals for research students as well as normal students. In the first year, a room is shared by three students, 2 students in one room in 2nd and 3rd year and single occupancy rooms in the fourth year. Mess food depends on the mess of that particular hostel. Some hostels have a good mess, but others have bad. Canteens are available in every hostel. Institute has a student health centre and a gymkhana to host sports activities.

Course Curriculum Overview

Teachers here are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, but most of them lack quality of teaching. They don't know how to teach complex concepts. So academically you have to depend on your own. The course curriculum of our branch is not relevant to industry-related problems, and it has somewhat become old fashioned now. So if you have to learn new things related to the industry, then you should do it on your own.

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 800000 per year

Placement Experience

More than 75% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered was 1.5 crores per annum, and the lowest salary package offered was 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Goldman Sachs, Microsoft Redmond, Flipkart and Amazon. Many students get internships either in private companies like HUL or government sector companies like Hindustan Petroleum. I don't have much idea about what are the top roles offered in our course.

College Events

I had no specific interest in any branch, so during counselling, I just wanted to get the best branch and college possible according to my rank. So I got this branch. I don't know what should be improved about our course as I am in the 1st year. So I haven't studied much about chemical engineering. Events and fests organised here are very awesome and enjoyable. The campus crowd is very much like the intake of IIT BHU is more than 1300 students in the 1st year only, i.e, there are about 6,000 students in the entire college, which is a huge number.

Hostel Facilities and Accommodation Experience at SRMU University

Likes

Supportive and knowledgeable faculty. Faculty Quality and Placement Opportunities at SRMU University
Spacious campus and decent infrastructure.
Supportive and knowledgeable Good academic environment and learning opportunities.

Dislikes

Placement opportunities could be improved.
Hostel facilities and maintenance need improvement.
More practical learning and industry exposure are needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum 4 out of 5. It is relevant and covers the essential concepts of the subject, providing a good theoretical foundation. However, more practical learning, industry exposure, and updated course content would make it more comprehensive and career-oriented.

The beauty of BHU

Likes

The things I liked about the college are the faculty and the professors. They are very cooperative and helpful.
The campus life is quite beautiful here, campus is very close to nature and you can get fresh air. Also the infrastructure is on the top they have all the facilities which are required.
There is an active placement cell in the campus which usually provide in campus placement to students according to their concerned departments.

Dislikes

Some of the things which i think should need to be improved are the classrooms and canteens.
Also I think there is need of improvement in placement cells fir humanities students.
For library I would also say there needs an improvement because they have less capacity in comparison with number of students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is very relevant. I took admission in pg diploma in guidance and counselling which is a one year diploma course. I was inspired to do this course specially because it can provide you placement for sure. After this you can apply as a counsellor in any academic setting or NGOs.The teaching method of professors is quite good. They almost cover the entire syllabus before exams

Likes

the security is nice at my college like proper cctv and guards , apart from that labs , and my dept is too good. Ac classroom and labs
They have provided average placement like most of companies are mass hiring like tcs and accenture ..and only few companies come to offer big package
Infrastructure is good but there is need of reconstruction at some places the water is ticking in rain season continuously, and curriculum is okay okay not that much relevant to industry , they taught text books rather than the real practical cases

Dislikes

The examination checking - the student who is cr or having any relation with teachers got highest marks without writing the answer properly
The food canteen first of all the canteen is off from the past 1 or 2 year and now it reopen but it sells dirty food , waste foods
The college professor support , they are not that much supportive

Course Curriculum Overview:

coding I am interested in coding that why I offer this course It provide some courses but not all courses are related to real world they have to use practical examples and make students aware of the real industry According to me the time and frequency is okay of exam

In terms of placement IIT bhu rank is now 2 after IIT kanpur that's one of the reason to choose it. Then all students of different branches alloted different places to go and submit documents we go there and submit documents after a rush. Then they give us college id card with college stamp.
