The admission process was conducted in the Mumbai campus in mid-Feb, first round was case discussion followed by personal interview. The main reason for opting for this college compared to other colleges was its brand name and the campus location since both are significant factors when looking for placements. Another good aspect of this college is its lower batch strength due to which it provides ample opportunities to all its students to get placed. Coming to the bad aspect, lower ROI is one of the significant drawbacks.
I chose PGDM - Marketing. The course curriculum is top-notch with experienced faculty from various industries. Live case scenarios are discussed over the class with faculties discussing various possibilities to tackle a situation. Faculties are alumni of tier-1 colleges with many years of corporate experience.
Internships opportunities are offered on campus and big brands do visit our campus. Do check our annual placement report to get more details regarding the various companies visiting campus and the job roles offered with the average package.
In terms of placements, NMIMS Bangalore is true to its word. Even when big brands were facing the heat of the global pandemic and its after-effects, our college did a commendable job in getting the students placed.
The total fee for the entire course duration is 18 Lakhs excluding hostel fees. Students can opt for the hostel services with additional charges. Hostel services are expensive but the facilities provided are top-notch.
Due to the global pandemic, we had our first year in the online mode due to which we were unable to visit the campus. But being said that from the info we got from our seniors, it's one of the most happening places to be. With different events across the year making you habitual to the hectic life needed for your corporate journey ahead.
NMIMS conducted CD/PI process for the interview round. In Case Discussion (CD), a particular case was provided based on e-learning and few minutes were given for the case analysis and then each candidate had to provide their views on the same. The second round was the Personal Interview (PI) where questions were mostly based on a personal capacity and current affairs.
One will be eligible for campus placements nearing the end of their third semester. Companies like Bisleri, Verzio, Phonepay, HCL came and offered positions for business development officers, project management associates, etc. More than 98% of the students get placed. I will be doing a job wherever I get the opportunity and continue for a few years before thinking about anything else.
Choices of specialisation (as I wanted to take Information System which is not offered by most of the colleges), campus atmosphere (lush green campus, cool and quiet), placement data and affiliation to Mysore Univ (one of the oldest and reputed Universities of the country.
Delloite, Bata, ICICI, HDFC, Marico, RB, KPMG, Adobe, etc were the companies that visited in 2018. The average package was 5-6 lpa and some of the common offered profiles were management trainee, tax analyst, BDE. The placement process is good and strict. The college also offers programmes to groom the students and make them placement ready. The referrals are not that good (but you can always build a network on your own). The E-Cell is good and is in association with Wadhwani group.
The companies like TATA, RELIANCE, HCL, BYJUS, HP visited our campus very many of the students got placed. The placement process starts with an entrance test then a GD and then the PI. there are many startups from our college giving solutions to the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY departments.
The placement scenario is good by comparing with previous batches. 90% of people got placed in top companies. The average package will be like 3,50,000
