Remarks
Among all institutes of UP, it is the best place to study Civil Engineering. At least two students are always there on the university merit list. A no of students gets selection in core sector jobs. It was known to me through some of my seniors and the same was verified through online plate forms as well. I participated in the state-level entrance test for getting admission to the institute.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was having a dream to become a well qualified civil engineer and KIET Ghaziabad has helped me for the same through a well qualified and trained team of faculty members. Department has nearly one faculty for 18 students to take care of the preparations for examinations and competitive exams. It was fun to study in classes and get good marks in examinations very easily.
Internships Opportunities
Institute has a well-developed internship cell to help students in getting quality work as an assignment. Some of the organizations offering internships for students of Civil Engineering are mentioned below. UP PWD, DMRC New Delhi, Ambuja Cement, Chaitnya Projects, Wave Infra Noida, L&T constructions and many more. Many other companies are there to address the need for students of other streams. The outcome is in terms of practical understanding of field practices.
Placement Experience
Institute has a fully functional placement cell. The cell keeps working round the year for the placement of students. The average placement package of the institute is around 4-5Lacks pa. Major recruiters are from the software field like TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, etc. The proper effort is made to provide placement opportunities in the core area as well. Total offers are more than 1000 and usually, 70-80% of student are well placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee is around 1.1 lacks with support of scholarship being offered through the social welfare department. Excellent support is available for placement, I got placed in the software domain. There is no hike in fee during the course. The fee is not too much some financial support is also available from banks.
Campus Life
Life at KIET was full of energy and passion. Institute and department plan a no of events for students in the domain of extracurricular and curricular. Institute observe it's annual Tech Fest and Cultural Fest every year. A no. of club activities are there in all departments for students. Industrial tours and visits are there for updating the knowledge.
Interview Experience
The admission is through counselling after clearing the entrance test hence there was no separate test/GD/ Discussion. However, during the study, no of GD's was conducted on emerging/established topics. These activities were extremely helpful during placement derives.
