The best part of our college is the fees of this college and placement. As this is a state government college, it's fees is very low in comparison to all other colleges i.e approx 2.5 lakhs for a complete 4-year course including hostel and mess charge. For admission, we have applied for JCECEB counselling after attempting the JEE Mains. Seats were allotted according to the merit list which was prepared on the basis of your JEE Mains rank by JCECEB. Here, if you belong to OBC, SC and ST then you also get a scholarship from E-Kalyan (approx 20K per year).
I have chosen the ECE department because it is the most stable and developing department and I also love Electronics from childhood. I think this is one of the toughest department of Engineering. There were many papers we have to read. Here, the facilities are quite good, some are researchers and completed PhD from reputed IITs. The students and teacher ratio are good. We can ask any doubts any time, we have also their contact no. As well as WhatsApp no. The examination is done from time to time. Here we have supposed to give 2 Mid Semester exam, Viva (external comes from IIT-ISM Dhanbad) and End semester exam. 75% attendance is mandatory for giving the End Semester exam.
Our college helps the students to get an internship in mainly core companies like Tata Steel, CCL and many more. For an internship in tech companies, we have to apply separately and get a referral from our alumni which helps a lot.
We have recruitments every year. Companies like Vedanta, AVG, TCS, Wipro, Tata Steel, DVC, SAIL, L&T, Tata Hitachi, ZS Association, Usha Martin etc come for recruitment. The average package is 3-4 lacs per annum. The placement ratios vary from branch to branch like 98% for metallurgy. TCS and Wipro are the mass recruiter. About 82% of students in Electronics and communication branch gets placed.
Here, the fees are divided into different segments like Institute fees 7,532/- (per year), Student fund 5,732/- (per year), Hostel maintenance charge 5,000/- (per year), Electricity bill 2,000/- (per year), Mess charge 30,000/- (per year), Total 50,264/- (per year). Here, you also get an E-Kalyan scholarship if you belong to OBC, SC, ST. You got approx 20k-24k per year.
Campus life is interesting in BIT Sindri, as the gender ratio is 8:1 here. Extracurricular, Labs, Workshop, Sports competitions are happening all around the year. Political influence is very low here. The environment is quite secular and students from all religions are studied here. In BIT Sindri, there are about 16 clubs like a Model club, Arts club, Sports club etc. The events at BIT Sindri are very dynamic. The cultural fest BITAANSH is the all-time hit of the college. Some techfest is also quite good especially Sandhan conducted by Model Club is superb. If you want to contribute in social work the this is the great place, Prayas India is one of the social body which provides free education to the students of backward classes as well as poor children who don't afford a good education.
BIT Sindri has a great infrastructure (about a 700-acre campus area). There is greenery all over the campus as the building occupies only 400 acres of total area. There are approx 29 hostels, boys and girls have a separate hostel. The mess is enough good as compared to other colleges, 24*7 water supply system. The hostels are also equipped with TV and Carrom board in the common room, volleyball court and a large terrace. Hostel fees:- 5,000/- (per year). Electricity bill:- 2,000/- (per year). Mess charge:- 30.000/- (per year).
For getting admission in BIT Sindri you have to only appear in JEE Mains and try to get a good rank. No group discussion and interview were taken to select the students. You get seats in this college only through the counselling conducted by JCECEB and on your JEE Mains Rank.
The placement scenario at our college is also good. There are various companies that visit the campus during the placement season. Various students get internships from their 3rd year. Various programs for startups are also conducted by the clubs. Almost all big companies ( it sector and core sector) visit our campus and the number of companies visiting the campus is also increasing year by year. In my department ONGC , crain is the main recruter .
The placement of NIT JSR is quite good. Its placement percentage is 90% or above. Many companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Tata, axis bank, Bajaj auto, Nokia, sabre, accolade, Infosys, TCS, IBM, Wipro, Oracle visit our campus for placement. The number of companies that participated in placement is 150 or above and the number of offers made is more than 400. The highest package of our college (this year 2021) is 37.5 LPA. And the average CTC is 15.5 LPA. Top recruiters are Amazon, Deloitte and Tata power. According to the 2021 placement record, 90% and above student of the Cse and ECE branch are placed in good companies. Placement of branches like Civil, MME is also good in our college because of its location. The highest package of our college (till now) is 39 LPA (2016 batch). Our college is improving in every field especially in placement, NIT JSR has a good record.
Now coming to the most important part of college for some people. You will hear about 7 LPA average package, 21 LPA packages, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs and whatever big MNC you have heard off. But mind you, max of the good companies are for CSE and IT. Some for ECE. You leave them aside, the placement scene is pretty dull and chimeric for other branches. Average package comes down to 4 LPA. In branches like mechanical and chemical only about 50% max students were placed. So if you do not belong to the so-called “Star” branches, have reality in your head and work hard according to your goals. Overall It is a good college. You will often feel that 10 Lacs and 2 years of JEE prep was not worth this college. Someway it’s right. Aim for IITs , IIITs and top NITs rather. But if you do not get better college, then come here, work hard, make friends, do the things you are passionate about, find your calling, make memories and the last day tear will say it all.
Nearly all the top companies come to college like Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, JP Morgan, Capgemini, Barclays, KPMG, Deutsche Bank, Walmart, PwC, Mckinsey& company and many more top companies come every year to hire students. As per data, the Highest package was Rs 54.57 lakhs pa to 7 students by GOOGLE. The average package of college is Rs 11lakhs pa. Various profiles are offered from coding, data analyst, tech analyst, management consultant, consulting, finance, IT sector, health sector are present every year. I'm planning to get into Management consulting directly from college. Apart from this here the placement in the Petroleum Engineering branch is highly appreciated, Companies like ONGC, shell, Carin ExxonMobil, Mecon, Schlumberger. etc comes here and gives students a decent package.
Last sem students get placement. Recently many companies visited such as Google,Microsoft, amazon, coal India, and all companies related to mines, petro. Fews days ago, our senior got 90 lakh per annum. In mining engineering, the placement percentage is 100. Overall more than 91%.
From the 2nd semester, students are eligible for internships. You require to maintain at least 8 GPAs every semester. More than 80% of students get placement in good companies every year. The highest package of 2021 was 90 lakh per annum of a CSE student.
So the placements are one thing you shouldn't care about. Being in IIT people always get placed with high packages in good companies. People here come to develop their personality get in civil services. There is no problem with placements or internships. This year's highest package was offered by Bloomberg to two CSE seniors about 90-80 lakhs. The average package is about 10 lakhs.
I answered this in the previous part only. Exams were quite tricky. After all, it is an IIT. In the first year, all the students are mixed and all of us are taught the same courses. A quiz takes place at an interval of two weeks and there are four quizzes per semester.
Students can sit for placements from the 7th semester. Nearly all the top companies come to college like Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, JP Morgan, capegemini, Barclays, KPMG, Deutsche Bank, Walmart, PwC, Mckinsey& company and many more top companies come every year to hire students.
