Remarks

I had an amazing journey at GITAM, Bengaluru as a Computer Science undergrad. The campus is huge, clean, and environment-friendly. Hostels are attached to the campus and have single rooms which is a good reason for preferring GITAM. Management is very supportive and the curriculum is well structured.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

GITAM offers a well-structured Computer Science course. Subjects, projects, and internships equipped me with the latest knowledge. Faculty are very supportive and well-versed in their field. They are always ready to help students, even beyond working hours. They maintain a healthy faculty-student ratio. We are taught in the best environment with the latest teaching techniques. Term exams are precise and test our theoretical and practical knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

We are offered in-house internships with the help of our placement department. We also had a few e-commerce giants offering us internships during the third year. We worked on projects based on machine learning, IoT, blockchain, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

We are provided with campus placements. We are given ample opportunities and support by our placement department. We started receiving offers by the end of our third year. I was offered a job by 5 companies, out of which 4 are top MNC's and one is an e-commerce giant. An average package of 7-8 lakhs is offered. The highest package offered is 18 lakhs as a software development engineer. Almost 90 percent of students are placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

We were offered scholarships based on our test scores. Students with enthusiasm for learning were always given scholarships. We were given a chance every semester to gain scholarship benefits and our counselors helped us through the process. The course is quite affordable.

Campus Life

4.5

We had lots of tech fests and cultural fests. Every year students and faculty come together to arrange and participate in these fests. The library has a myriad of academic books for reference. Classrooms are well-lit and have ample space. We had dancing, singing, painting, android, tech, etc, clubs at the campus. Students run a variety of these clubs.

Hostel Facilities

5

We had single rooms that were equipped with a bed, a study table, a chair, and a wardrobe. Rooms were cleaned on daily basis. The quality of food provided at the mess is good. We also have a salon, stationery, and a bakery at our hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the NIAT curriculum around four out of five. In my opinion, it is good that the curriculum is not only based on theoretical studies. The inclusion of coding, projects, assignments, and practical knowledge is quite engaging for the students, as they can apply the acquired information in practice. Additionally, I find the curriculum up to date compared to the standard Btech syllabus, which mainly focuses on theoretical background. However the curriculum could have fewer assignments, as some of them are rather time consuming and require additional study to achieve a better understanding of a particular subject.

Placement Experience:

The on-campus usually starts in 6th Semester. A company called MathCo was the first company it came for the role of analyst. Around 5-7 people got selected. The average package would be usually around 4-4.5 LPA, but highest package was 6.25 from PlanetSpark for role of Sales. The percentage is nearly to 10-12%. After degree, get a job and work for atleast 2 years for learning current trends is my basic thought as of now.
