Shivaji College is quite good for academics. Teachers, staff, and unions are very helpful both at the time of admission and after admission. If you ask for any queries, they actually reply very fast. Societies are also very active. I m also part of two societies, we have organized competition very successfully and we are also working on projects. The placement cell is also great, it provided me an internship the day I step in. Seniors are also great guys. As for infrastructure, I can't say as we actually never visited the college because of a pandemic but as I have read about it Shivaji has the biggest library and biggest playground in du. So, Shivaji College actually worth it.
I have chosen b.com Hons because thats what I want to do. We have 46 students in a class, girls' ratio is more than the boy's ratio. Most in our class are from Delhi, Haryana, Delhi NCR so, there is not much diversity. The faculty is great. The teacher will help you even before one hour to the exam. The exam is the same for all the du college. obe is a little difficult but you will not fail.

You can apply for an internship any time as we have a placement portal on the college website. From there you can apply to any company. I m in the second semester so I don't know about the placement opportunities. But the company I m doing internship did offer me a full-time job. The placement cell organizes a placement fair around 40-50 company offers internship and placement opportunities. The placement cell is very active all around the year. I plan to do mba in finance after getting a degree or I will become a trader.
Fees for the college are 20k for general students. You can apply for a scholarship or fee concession. I have not applied for any of it bcoz I m capable of paying the fees but many of my friends applied for it and they got a refund. And placement cell is also great. I got the internship in Class plus and I m earning 5000 a month now.
Due to corona, we never really had a normal college life. Our seniors organized a virtual fresher which was really great. One can not have a better virtual fresher than we had. The annual fest was also organized virtually which was also great. We have the biggest library, availability of books is not something we have to worry about. Plus all the books are also provided to us in pdf format. Societies are very active. I m also part of two societies, we have organized fest and also participating in competitions.
When I got the admission. We just have to fill the registration form of du then we get admission according to the merit basis. Du releases a list of colleges and the cutoff, if you satisfy the cutoff you can apply for admission. Your documents will get verified by the college and you will get a fee to slip that will confirm your admission. If u have any queries regarding admission, you can contact the nodal officer. They will reply to you very fast.
From semester 5 the college offers campus placement with a variety of public recognised companies and the biggest companies of the world too which are the big 4 KPMG, Delloite, PWC, E&Y. It has an impressive offer record having an average of 5LPA with the highest of 20LPA in jobs and several internships too.
From the 6th semester, we are eligible for placements. There is a larger number of offers. I have no information about the package. There are 80% of students get placements from college. I want to work for a multinational company after completing my college degree.
The students become eligible for campus placement offers in the last semester. Companies like McKinsey, KPMG, EY, ICICI Bank, and Wipro visit with 180+ offers. The highest package is 20 lakhs and the average package of companies like McKinsey, DE Shaw, FuturesFirst is 12lakhs and for companies including Deloitte, Grand Thornton, Genpact the average package is 4 lakhs. Around 70% of students get placed. I plan to join one of the Big Four companies.
Campus placements are provided only after completing the course successfully, Number of companies that visited the campus was not that many. Very few offers were made to students. The highest package was 3 lakhs per annum whereas 2 lakhs was the average package. The percentage of students getting placements was very less.
The third-year students are eligible for campus placements. The companies like Dell , HCl , IdInsight, Tech India, unbancap etc visited to University of Delhi and recruited students from various courses for job profiles like auditor, analyst, business development, content writing etc. The highest placement was 58 lakh INR from Lady Shri Ram's college. The average package differs from course to course. Most of the companies recruit students from b. Com(Hons) and B. A Hons. Many students have created their own firms by gaining experience from internships offered at the University of Delhi. Approx 60-70 percent of deserving students get placed on an average package of 7-8 lakh.
I can't be precise about the college placements but I could assure you that Hindu has one of the best placements of all the colleges in the Delhi University circuit. The students become eligible for placements from their 3rd year and the companies which visit the campus are Zomato, Deloitte, Larson and Turbo etc. Approximately 30 students out of the strength of 92 get placed in companies and start working with them with high placement. The highest package ever been offered is around 20 lakhs per annum I guess. I'm not sure about it. My plans after getting the degree are that I'll be going for an internship company so that I can finish my CA Articleship. Because I really aspire to be a Chartered Accountant someday.
