VSSUT, BTech

Remarks

This college is Odisha's top most govt. engineering college. The admission process is through JEE MAINS and OJEE only. As it is the best in govt engg. college but it lags in the ragging part. In terms of ragging every year some cases of ragging is must in news.

Course Curriculum Overview

By doing engineering i can have many options in which I have to go.So, I chose BTech. Faculty student ratio is good. And the faculties are pass out from IIT,NIT,IISER etc. In a year we have 2 internal exams or midsems and at last the end semester. And the questions are conceptual and practical based both in exams.

Class Size: 62Course Fees: INR 48550 per year

Placement Experience

From 5th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Amazon is the highest with 15LPA (2020). DELOITTE-7.6LPATATA STEEL (PPO) -10.11 LPAMARUTI SUZUKI -10.1LPACredit Suisse -10.81LPABYJUS -10.1LPAINTEL 10.0624LPAAvg. package is 5.96 LPA for all the companies that came in 2020. About almost 60% students get placed. After degree I have to do job.

College Events

We have VASSAUNT (Annual fest or cultural fest) and SAMAVESH(Tech fest) generally in feb-mar. In the library we have 55483 text books,5800 reference books,9065 journals and 7067 e-journals. The class room was not a smart class when I took the admission but they are working on it from some months. In some classrooms we have single sitter chairs or with benches. We have annual fests, atheletic meet, inter university sports meet, ganesh puja, saraswati puja, vishwakarma puja, Alumni meet, NCC day,Tedx etc. Yoga club, Audio Visual club, literary society, IIC(Idea Innovation Cell) etc. IIC site is developed by students and run by them only.

Campus Life

4.5

We have one sports ground in the campus of 400mtrs. In the hostels WIFI facility is there but with some limitations. We have one central library with 1gbps internet connectvity with textbooks, reference books and many more. The equipments in labs are well functioning but some equipments are old.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

In hostel room, there is 1chair,1 table and1 bed for each student. Registration for hostel is quite simple. SImply after the admission in the college one can come to college by making demand draft for hostel fees and then he/she can get the room. The food is not so good. I usually dont like that food at all. Sometimes the food was not cooked properly.Breakfast: Puri, Sabji, Idli, sambhar, Dosa, Upma, Sambhar, Chana Sabji, Poha, Chakuli, Bread, Butter/JAM, Maggi, Epee, Tea/Coffee/Milk/Bournvita, Sprouts, Banana.Lunch : Rice, Fried Rice, Jeera Rice, Dal, Mix fry, Mix Sabji, Chicken, Paneer, fish, Papad, Rajma, pickle, curd/Lassi.Tiffin : Bara, Samosa, Bread Chop, Alu Chop, Pakudi, Jhal Murhi, Chowmin, Lemon Water/Jal Jeera/Tea/Rasna/Veg Pakoda/Pizza/Biscuits.Dinner : Roti,Tandoori, Rice, Dal, Dal Makhani, Sabji, Mix fry, Egg, Chicken, fish, Mutton, papad, Achar, Salad, Sweets.

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

Likes

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. Buckle up Journey in Vssut

I have applied to only Outr(formerly Cet Bhubaneswar). I have applied on the technical branches, but got none of them as my rank was around 152000. As Cet is not very good for its core branches, so I preferred Vssut over it. To get technical branches in cet bhubaneswar your rank should be under 50000 in Jee mains. The admission process is through the OJEE COUNSELLING. It is the counselling only for the students of odisha and anyone out of Odisha appearing the OJEE examination. The eligibility of our college is 45 percent. The admission process is quite hassle free. As once you got the seat in ojee counselling....Read More

I applied for outr Bhubaneswar and vssut burla. I was getting electrical branches in both the colleges. But in outr there are not enough hostels for student neither the campus is that much attracting. O the other hand vssut have total 11 hostel and can accommodate every student studying and the campus is also somewhat good. But for csit branches there are not enough facilities in vssut To get admission here you have to get a rank in jee main exam and have to go through ojee counselling. To get to cse branch your all India rank must be within 1lakhs and for electrical branch its about 1.5lakhs and for lower branches production rank does not matter that must there are seats pending vacant you can get them via spot counselling...Read More
