Remarks

I had spent 5 memorable years(10+2 and 3years of graduation) of my life in this college. So, I've seen almost every aspect closely. Nothing to say about faculties, they were very knowledgeable and helpful and good teacher. Only one point to mention, there was a lack of drinking water and the food of canteen was not so good.

Entrance Preview

I took WBHSE entrance exam. Got 71.1% marks. I had an interest from my school life in Physics. So, I've chosen this to do specialisation.

Placement Experience

3

College was not providing any direct placement after completion of the course. But after completing master degree from the university, some of friends got a chance as part time teacher in our college.

College Events

4

College celebrated Ravindra Jaynti(Birth date of Rabindranath Tagore), Annual day celebration, Annual sports week, Freshers welcome, Teachers day celebration.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was a scholarship program. It was upto 80%.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was awesome. After each classes, students generally meets at beautiful balcony just outside of each class room. Male to female student ratio was 60:40. Labs were great with well equipped and modern apparatus and very knowledgeable and helpful lab attendant. Sports room were equipped with TT board, carom board.

Alumni/Alumna

Not sure about alumni network, but senior students were really helpful and friendly in nature.

Exam Structure

Three years got divided in two part of examinations. Part 1(1st year & 2nd year) and Prt 2(3rd year). In 1st year, there was an annual examination. In every year, there was a half-yearly examination.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
