Remarks

Pros of DTU:1. It has a great infrastructure (campus area of about 170 acres), a great auditorium, sports complex and library. I enjoyed an excellent campus life and in the past 1 year, a lot has been added to the infra of DTU. 2. A great hub for co-curricular activities. Being in Delhi, DTU is a melting pot of a variety of cultures and students from all over who come with a myriad of talents and join the dramtics, music and debating clubs. 3. A great placement record - some of the best companies like BCG, Visa, Goldman Sachs, and many more come to DTU to offer placements to its students. Cons of DTU1. Across India, the brand name is often not as much heard of as IITs , BITS and NITs. 2. Earlier, there used to be a shortage of hostels but recently more hostels have been added so that issue should get sorted now.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

My course was B.Tech in Civil Engineering. I choose this course because my inclination was towards civil and environmental studies, as it's not only a booming and emerging sector but also one in which I can create an impact in. Some of the best professors of India teach at DTU, and thus, many students publish research and do projects because of which they get a chance to go abroad to present their research and take part in international internships. I myself did a research internship at IIT KGP and published research in international journals.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Students at DTU have the option for on-campus intenrship opportunties and companies like L&T, Suez, Deloitte, etc. come on campus to offer intern opportunities. These internships offer a monthly stipend and occur during the month long summer break. Many students apply for internships off campus. I did an internship with DMRC and Times Internet Limited. I also did a winter research internship at IIT KGP. In the last year of B.Tech, it is mandatory for the students to do a 2 month long internship and it has credits. All of my internships were very different from each other and a great learning experience. DTU alumni connections can also be very helpful for students trying to get an internship.

Placement Experience

4

DTU has a great placement record. some of the best companies like Bain, BCG, Visa, Goldman Sachs, and many more come to DTU to offer placements to its students. In their pen-ultimate year, the B.Tech students become eligible for applying for placements as companies begin to visit the campus. The process differs for tech and non-tech placements. There are also mass placement companies like Infosys and start-ups that venture on the campus.Students also have the option for on-campus intenrship opportunties and companies like L&T, Suez, etc. come on campus to offer intern opportunities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government institute, the fee structure of DTU is subsidized and hence less as compared to a typical graduation fee. Although, the fee for NRI and PIO students is more and differs according to their category. Campus placements are great, some of the best companies like BCG, Visa, Goldman Sachs, and many more come to DTU to offer placements to its students.

Campus Life

5

DTU sports a great a campus life, with a huge library and a very active cultural council. It has a very active student club for dramatics (PRATIBIMB), music (MADHURIMA), dance (VIBE), etc. and Enactus DTU, 180 degree consulting and many more. One of India's biggest cultural fests - EngiFest in organized at DTU every year in the month of February. Apart from this, there's a grand sports complex at DTU where annual sports fests like Aahvaan are held. The sports complex has a grand tennis court, badminton court, football field and cricket field. The library has 3 floors, and books on a myriad of topics. There's also a huge Open Air Theatre (OAT) at the centre of DTU where most of the events are held.

Admission

No, there isnt a GD or PI for admission. The admission for BTech is granted on the basis of your JEE MAINS rank for Indian students. There is a cut off list that comes out, indicating cut off ranks for each branch of engineering. There are many rounds of admissions, where the cut-off ranks' range get increased in each subsequent round.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

The curriculum is fine. Here they prefer to rely on standard textbooks for better knowledge. And the postings here gives you very good practice and practical knowledge. Here we get to see a lot of complex and rarer cases in the ward.
