Remarks
I applied for colleges in Karnataka via COMEDK. Also applied to SRM and VIT. I attempted for BITSAT too. I was eligible for getting admission in IT in SRM, VIT and COMEDK colleges but did not attend them because they were too far away from my hometown. I did not avail any quota for admission in KIET, Ghaziabad because I secured a good enough rank in UPTU and was eligible for admission to the IT branch. When I took admission to the college, 12,500 AIR was the maximum limit for getting admission to the IT branch. Might have reduced a bit in further rounds. During counselling day, I had to carry original documents along with photocopies of the same to the college campus for one on one verification and also the DD cheque for submission of college and hostel fees. That is all that was needed to be done during counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because it has the best placement record in my college. Also, the best faculty. I think the faculty to student ratio is 1:10 here. All faculties are well qualified with at least M.Tech or PhD and teaching method of all teachers are good except some obviously. In the online mode of classes also teachers do a great job, using MS Word on the laptop to write and explain things. Exam times are unpredictable since Covid times but passing them is not so difficult if one studies properly throughout the semester, although students are generally not satisfied by the paper checking of AKTU.
Internships Opportunities
Internship offers are available by many startups and few tech giants like IBM but all of them are unpaid internships. KIET does not provide any paid internships. Projects during these internships are mediocre and learning-based. Some are a bit more practical too like building a simple website. The main drawback is no stipend.
Placement Experience
Many good companies visit the college for placements since the 6th Semester. Amazon, Kronos, HCL, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and many more visitors. The whole CSE and IT batch is placed with 100% placement. The highest this year was 27 LPA by Flipkart. Although it was off-campus. On-campus highest is around 13-15 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of studying in KIET is relatively less than other private colleges in different states of India. The fees hike is minimal and is decided by AKTU. Cost of Studying is 1,20,000 + Hostel Fees around 1 lac. One can avail of UP Scholarship if conditions meet but the college itself doesn't provide any scholarships or financial assistance.
Campus Life
The annual fest is Epoque and it is conducted in March. All books are available and provided by Book Bank. Classrooms are well equipped with AC and good table chairs for the first year. From second year quality of furniture degrades but still fine. Many webinars and events keep happening in the college from time to time. Many clubs and organizations are run by college students like Code-IT, Innogeeks, Dance club etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are good. Mess food is the best in a 1st-year hostel and degrades since the 2nd year. Facilities in the room are fine. The registration process is simple, while taking admission you simply submit the hostel fees too.
