Wonderful Time of my life.

I took the AIEEE examination in the year 2012, I scored around 114 marks due to which my all India rank was 1,47,000. I tried to get admission in BIT-Patna, but unfortunately I didn't get. Then I searched over internet about good colleges and came to know about Sharda University.

The course for my Branch was well arranged by the faculty. We got the whole curriculum of our four year before hand in the First semester itself. The college followed that syllabus through out our course. All the subjects were relevant and useful for the overall development of students. We had two types of electives, open electives and department electives. In open electives we were able to select subjects from different streams.

Yes, of course our college provide internships. The training and placement department of our college keep track of the industries for cutting edge technologies and try to coordinate internships for students with these industries and companies. The general stipend is around 8k to 10k per month for summer Internship.

The college provide great many opportunities for the computer science field and other non-core fields. During the placement drives a total of around 60 companies offer jobs on campus and off campus combined. However there are less opportunities for core fields like, Mechanical and Civil students.

In case of events our college will be on the top. The most happening event of our college is Chorus, which is a 3 day event celebrated every year. During that there are several small events occurs then there is celebrity night all the three days. Anyone can come after buying the passes but for us its free, of course.

The fee is a little expensive for us middle class people. Since its a private University , we have to expect that. The per year fees for our course was 1,37,000 and then the hostel fees is 80,000. When we add both the fees, it would come near 2,40,000 per year. So I can say its a little expensive.

I only know about about one scholarship which was given by the college that is for students who score above 8 pointer in the year. College give 35k rupees to the students who secure average 8 pointer in the year the end exam including both the semesters.

The campus life is very happening and full of excitements. The gender ration is okay. You can see people from 56 countries in our campus ,no need to talk about diversity. Labs are well maintained and full of equipment which can be accessed by the students anytime if they are working on any project. Every now and then there are different types of competition going on in campus organised by different departments.

The exam structure is really very tough for us. We have one mid semester exam for 20 marks and one final semester exam for 100 marks along with viva and practicals. All combined we get our marks out of 100, which is then converted into grades. We have a CGPA system.

Sharda University takes a pre-admission test called SAT, I took that and cleared that, then there was an interview in their Patna centre. After the interview, they select students on the basis of their ranks in AIEEE or IIT. Once the shortlisting is done, the names are displayed over the notice boards. Then we have to submit the fees and take our accommodations in the hostel. My class started in August 2012.

The faculty members of our college are very experienced, talented and well educated. Sharda offers world class teaching staff, few are foreigners. The faculties have minimum masters degree in their relevant field. The HODs of the department are really very educated and experienced, they are fellow faculties of IITS and NITS.
