I took EAMCET to join Vasavi college of Engineering in year 2000. Vasavi was one of the best colleges at that time. I was lucky to get Computer science and engineering course.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was Excellent. Computer science subjects were very useful for future use. Being a Alumni, I understand the importance of the subjects which were offered to us. Electives were also offered keeping future use in mind. Embedded systems, VLSI designing, Artificial intelligence etc were quite useful.
Internships Opportunities
When I was in the college, I did not see people doing internship from the college. Not sure if they have started anything recently.
Placement Experience
Generally almost everyone in the class will be placed in good institutes. Companies offer decent salaries although it is for freshers. Companies like Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, TCS, TTL, Visual. Soft have visited at the time of my study. Packages were ranging between 2L to 4L at that time.
College Events
There were many technical, cultural, management festivals happened in Vasavi College of Engineering. There were many Paper presentations organised in which other college students were invited every time. Technical festival called Euphoria was organised every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure was not much expensive at the time when I was in the college. There was a concept of Free seat and pay seat at that time. Free seat was costing 5000 rupees all including tuition fee as well. Pay seat was costing around 40,000 along with lab and tuition fee. Pay structure has changed now but still very competitive.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I did not avail Scholarship or loan facility. I did not apply for any loan during my time. There used to be educational loan availability for students who cannot afford studies though.
Campus Life
Campus life was the best in Vasavi college of Engineering. There were many extracurricular activities, labs, sports and competitions. Euphoria was a college fest when we could able to participate in many competitions including debates, Artificial intelligence projects etc.
Exam Structure
Exam structure was Apt. We used to have Internals, Lab and externals separately and without any hectic schedule. Lab internals and lab externals were also planned perfectly. Internal exam were weighed in the external examination results as well. Frequency of the exams was always perfect.
Admission
EAMCET was the method I chose to join Vasavi college of Engineering. Admission process was very good and easy and transparent to everyone. Being a local to the college, it was not very difficult to get the quota as well. Admission procedure was never a problem for me.
Faculty
All of the faculty in the college were highly qualified. I have studied in Computer science engineering course and the lecturers and professors are from reputed institutes like IIT and NIT. Faculty was very friendly and with high knowledge levels. They maintain good standards.
