Entrance Preview
I gave the JEE(Main) 2016 Examination(Paper-I). I qualified it with a score of 123 the cutoff was 100 for General students. Class 12th board marks with 40% weightage along with JEE marks(60% weightage) are used to prepare an All-India Rank mine was 17842 which is used to get admission in the government colleges all across India.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum at DTU has been updated in 2015. A few irrelevant courses have been removed from the syllabus like carpentry in Workshop Practice. Also, a credit-based system along with the CGPA system has been adopted by the college. Students are allowed to choose many electives in the 7th and 8th semester especially.
Internships Opportunities
The college has a University Student Internship Programme(USIP) for the college students to get versed with working in a start-up during vacations. They are paid ₹2500 per month and in turn are asked for 8 hours of work in a week, including holidays and weekends.
Placement Experience
The placements at DTU are always making headlines throughout the country. Famous companies like Google, Facebook, etc recruit many students for 1 crore packages. Besides these, companies like Adobe, Amazon, TCS, Texas Instruments, Schlumberger, McKinsey pick up students every year at very high packages. The college witnesses 100% placement and the average is around 20 lakh per annum.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is pretty affordable and just owing to the reputation of the college. It is quite affordable as compared to other colleges in Delhi/NCR. The actual figures for the academic session 2015-16 are 1st year ₹1,26,000, 2nd year: ₹1,38,000, 3rd year ₹1,51,000, 4th year ₹1,66,000.
Fees and Financial Aid
Plenty of scholarship opportunities are provided for the economically weaker sections(SC, ST, OBC). Also, there are scholarships for branch toppers, department toppers and institute toppers.
Exam Structure
The labs are very strict in attendance and in general too. The examination consists of a mid-semester examination, internal marks(awarded by the teachers on the basis of attendance, surprise tests, assignments, etc) and an end-semester examination followed by practicals. As most of the students have the habit of studying at the last moment, examinations are usually very hectic and sometimes leaves the students in tears.
Faculty
The faculty is well-qualified and experienced. They make sure that they provide all the necessary notes and details before the examinations begin. In particular, the Electrical Department faculty is strict about attendance norms and assignment-submissions.
