The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of engineering, pharmacy, and management. The application process takes place online and the students seeking admission must appear in the UPSEE exam conducted by the AKTU. The selected students have to participate in the counseling process, which is also done online. The basic eligibility criteria are 10+2 for B. Tech and B. Pharm students Candidates must have graduate degrees (in required disciplines) for M. Tech, M. Pharm, MBA, and MCA students. KIET offers scholarships to its students based on their exemplary and outstanding academic performances. Candidates have to appear in the state-level engineering entrance test conducted by the A. K. Technical University (UPSEE), IET Campus, Lucknow. Out of the total seats, 85% are allotted through UPSEE counseling. The rest 15% are allotted under Management Quota. The Average number of students who get scholarships depends on the performance of the students, economic background, and many more aspects. The daily routine is quite disciplinary as the classes start at 9:10 am in the morning till evening depending on the number of lectures provided by the Institution. Taking it one step further, a program to provide international internships to students of KIET ensures global educational and personality development. This provides the students with a chance to spread their wings outside the boundaries of their own country. Moreover, the institute has opened the opportunity for students to claim a scholarship for the internship that they get selected for! This is to ensure that none of the students gets left out on the opportunity, no matter what her or his economic condition. The scholarship is granted on the basis of merit, attendance, discipline, and other criteria, of the aspirants.

Students become eligible for placement offers after the 6th semester.KIET placements 2020 concluded placements with the highest package of INR 27.4 LPA. 370 companies participated, rendering 1637 offers to students. The highest package was offered to the B.Tech IT branch. The primary recruiters were Accenture, Capgemini, TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, Nokia, HUL, Bajaj Alliance, Samsung, among others. Over 20 companies generated 79 offers of INR 9 LPA.

KIET has very reasonable fees as compared to other colleges of India and there are no major hikes in fees. The cost to study is around 120000 yearly..KIET has a very elaborate academic scholarship system based strictly on merit. The scholarship system is designed to motivate students, encourage hard work and exceptional academic performance in every semester. The Institute provides scholarships to 7% of the total strength of students on a semester-to-semester basis. Currently, more than one hundred students are availing of academic scholarship provisions. The scholarships range from 85% to 20% rebates in tuition fees. Students scoring 75% and above in board degree exams can apply for academic scholarship in the first semester at KIET. The placement of kiet is also very good.

The library is an exclusive member of DELNET, IETE, IEI, CSI, ISTE, AIMA, CII, QCFI, ASSOCHAM etc. The library has a separate facility of Book-Bank with more than one lac books. Under which books are issued to the students for the entire semester from Book-Bank. In addition to this, the Institute has 9 Departmental libraries for Reference purpose Classrooms are fully air-conditioned with modern amenities.
