Antareep Hazarika's Review On Sharda University, Greater Noida

I had to sit for a test called SUAT ( Sharda University Aptitude Test ). I scored around 82% in the test. Other than that, I had 80% in my Class 12 Board exams (75% is mandatory). I chose this college mostly because of the infrastructure and the overall environment that I witnessed in the college campus.

The course is well structured. Other than academics based entirely on books and theory, the college emphasizes on practical experience. We have been exposed to professional fields. We've also had interactive sessions with Industry Professionals and we also discussed topics related to the course with them. Overall, the course is well structured and focuses on all fields.

Yes, the college provides and encourages internships. Some students from my batch have already been on international internships.

From last year's records, 90+% of Computer Science students have been placed with packages ranging from 2.5L to 8L. Companies like Tech Mahindra, TCS, Gulf IT, etc came to campus. This's only for the Computer Science department. I'm not entirely sure about other departments.

The Annual College Cultural Fest, "Chorus" is held every year around February - March. Technical Fest, "Contrivance" is also held during the same time. Many other events such as the Diwali fest, B.Arch Fest, Pujas, Music Fests, MUNs etc are organised.

The fee structure is reasonable compared to other colleges. B.Tech (Computer Science) fee is around 1.6 Lakhs per year. Students can also opt to pay the fee Semester wise. Other than that, Hostel Fees range from Rs.80000 a year to Rs.135000 a year. Food is included in the hotel fee. Library Fee and other necessary fee are also included.

Students with over 8.0 CGPA are awarded scholarships from the college. Depending 9.0 CGPA and above are offered a full scholarship. Loan facility is offered by State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank.

Social Life in the campus is quite nice. Students from all over the world cooperate and it's always fun to roam around the campus. Occasional Basketball and Cricket matches are organized. Labs are well equipped. Debates and MUNs are organized. Other cultural events are also organized.

Class tests are intense. We have 1 class test for every subject every week. Other than that, we also have Mid-Term exams. At the end of the Semester, we have the End Sem exam. We have Internal Practical Exams right before the End Sem exam and External Practical Exams right after the End Sem Exam. We occasionally have Viva tests as well.

I had applied online for the college. After the online application process, I was asked to upload my Class 12 Board Exam marks. On doing so, I told that I had qualified for the next round, which was the SUAT(Sharda University Aptitude Test). I had gone to the campus to give the SUAT test. On passing the exam, I was granted admission.

Most teachers are friendly and are always willing to help students out. My department comprises mostly of fun loving teachers who make even the worst topics seem interesting. Nevertheless, there are some teachers who don't bond well with me. Perhaps that's just a personal choice.
