Remarks

Ethiraj college for women is one college in India wherein you'd find students and teachers from all parts of the country. Education here is not yielded but is strived and sought.

Entrance Preview

I didn't write any entrance examination, as there are no entrance examinations for B.A. I had applied for admission online, and I got admitted purely on my 12th marks.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is pretty good. It's all theoretical and doesn't include much of applied mathematics. The course curriculum includes electives such as accounts, geography, history, Econometrics, business economics. Statistics, basic Econometrics are allied subjects and major subjects include micro economics, macroeconomics, fiscal economics, Indian economy, economic thought, matrix algebra, calculus, monetary economics and international economics.

Internships Opportunities

Goldman Sachs is the only company that comes for internship for Economics department. I don't know about other departments the internship they provide is of two months for a stipend of rupees 15 thousand per month. The selection process for the internship includes- Aptitude test, followed by Group discussion and personal interview.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement cell of Ethiraj college brings in a lot of companies. mahindra tech, Pfizer, wipro, deloite, Goldman Sachs, congnizant, TCS, E&Y are some of the major companies that come. The packages differ from company to company and job to job. The starting package for an Economic graduate is 2.2 lakh (per annum), Whereas the starting package for a commerce graduate it 2.8 lakh. The highest package is given by deloite of 3.4 lakh. (Per annum).

College Events

4

At first, as the academic session begins we have our inter- department cultural fest Arambh and Maithri. Arambh is exclusively for the frsshers of the college and Maithri is for all the students. There are various clubs, who conduct their club fest at different period of time. The various departments also celebrate their department function at specific dates. The students union of the college conducts international youth conclave every year with eminent personalities all over the country participating The annual cultural fest "Srishti" is conducted in February, where students of all the college's participate in a series of events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible there are two fee structures one for the morning college (Aided) and one for the evening college (unaided) morning college students don't have any semester fee as such. They only need to pay examination fee which comes around 1500 rupees per semester. Whereas the evening college students have semester fee. Starting from 10000 to 25000 rupees, depending upon the course.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships given to backward communities like SC, St, and MBC and also merit based scholarships. Scholarships for students hailing from the state of Jammu and Kashmir is also offered.

Campus Life

3.5

Ethiraj college is a women college, si there is no gender bias. Girls all over the country come and study here so there exists diversity. There has been no such incidents of intolerance in the college. Girls from various economic background, race, ethnicity mingle with each other on various occasions.

Hostel Facilities

4

The Ethiraj college hostel has three hostel blocks. An approximate of 800 students live in the hostel. Hostel rooms are quite moderate. A room is shared by three students. At the beginning of every academic year a sum of 20000 rupees has to be paid. Mess bill is calculated and have to be paid separately every month. The food provided is fine. Out of 10 , I would rate it 7. Hostel facilities such as gym, WiFi, provision store, library etc adds a star to the standard of it.

Alumni/Alumna

The college holds ALUMNI meet every year. Our seniors through their experiences guide us and bring a sense of clarity in our minds, as to what we shouldn't do and what's the best to do.

Exam Structure

The examination structure is pretty intense. Total marks in a semester are divided into two- internal marks and external marks. internal marks include marks of Assignment, Continue Assessment tests, Quiz, and seminar. And external marks are nothing but the semester examination marks. Internal marks are out of 40 ( from 100 it is brought down to 40) and external marks are out of 100 and are brought down to 60. So as a whole it is 40+60=100. It is out of this 100 a student is marked.

Admission

Applications were available online, so I downloaded application, took a printout, filled it up and posted it to college admission administration address. Around 10 days later I got the call letter, after which I went and got myself admitted in the college.

Faculty

4.5

Generally all the teaching faculty have M.Phil qualification with some of them with even PhD. Every teacher has a different way of teaching a subject, regardless of that I can say that their teachings are thoroughly understood by the students. The faculty also take care of any kind of hardship faced by students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well-structured and covers both theoretical and practical aspects. It provides a strong foundation for higher studies and career opportunities. Internal assessments and semester exams are conducted regularly, with a fair marking system. More industry exposure, internships, and skill-based training would further enhance students' learning experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The department of English not only offers good education but also so many values to lead our life. Faculties were so friendly in clearing students' doubts. There was personality development course to improve students' personality. Students had to choose any other subjects other than they are studying for sbi course. Due to this students learn about other subjects too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.
