Remarks
The admission is given on the basis of intrence test merit basis. There are only 35 seats for this course. This is a single government University in Madhya Pradesh (M.P.) that offers Masters in Environmental Biology. A.P.S. University also offers M.Phill in Environmental Science and P.hd. in the same course. Due to covid -19 you can take admission without an entrance test. For last one year, A.P.S. offers admission in Environmental Biology on a Percentage basis.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is divided into 4 semesters of 6months each. The course is in Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). There are 4 subjects in each semester of equal credit which is 4. Out of which in a single subject there was internal assessment which carries 20 marks and theory of 80 marks. Practical carry 100 marks and viva carry 50 marks. So, total will be 100 4(subject) = 400+100(practical) + 50(viva) = 550 (Total) All faculty members are well qualified. Head of the department Dr. R.M. Mishra (P.hd.) All others professors are also good and the learning experience was really good. The faculty students ratio is 6:20 The teaching method is less theoretical and more practical which was really very good and easy to learn. Terms exam are carried at the end of the semester and the level was moderate. If you are regular in class then you can easily score 80+ marks.
Internships Opportunities
I heard about the internship program from my professor and at present, vI doesn't have much idea about it. I need to gather some more information from the college. For more information, you can also visit the A.P.S University website.
Placement Experience
After completing Masters students are eligible for campus placement. After master, you become eligible to apply an Environmental and Occupation health (E.O.H) expert , EIA expert , environment NGO , environmentalist etc. You can also go for MPhil and p.hd if are interested in teaching or want to clear NET JRF for becoming professor.
Fees and Financial Aid
At admission stage, you have to pay enrollment fees which around 1300rs and semester fees of 6000rs per semester. Examination fees is 1300rs which is submitted at end of semester. There is scholarship program for SC-ST and OBC students. After completing Masters you will able to apply for E.I.A. ( environment impact assessment) , environmental consultant, environmental experts , and can apply in Environment NGO's etc.
Campus Life
The campus is situated at the North end of city and is covered with the greenery. The social life of campus is very friendly. The annual fest is conducted in month of March in which is topper of each department are provided degree by the Governor of the State. There is seprate Library for E.B. students in Department of environmental Biology (E.B.)
