Remarks
I preferred BIT Sindri as it is known for giving maximum return on investment (ROI). Being a student of general category and having a CML rank around 800 in JEECE, I knew I had good chances of getting a seat in the first counseling itself. The cutoff for general category is generally around 1000. The admission process mainly involves seat allocation during counseling and then document verification and admission for which students have to report in the college. After being allotted a seat, we were asked to report in the college for admission after some days. After a thorough verification of documents like mark sheets of 10th and 12th, aadhar card and most importantly the residential certification (domicile of Jharkhand) and a medical check-up, the admission process was complete.
Course Curriculum Overview
on the basis of my rank in JEECE, I got admission to the Mining branch. The faculty-student ratio is not very impressive presently but steps are being taken to improve the scenario. The faculty is well qualified and well versed in their subjects. Classroom teaching is good and examinations are conducted timely. The exams are easy to pass for students who have followed the teaching.
Internships Opportunities
Eminent companies like TATA Steel offer internship opportunities to 3rd year students, however the eligibility is limited to Mechanical, Electrical and Metallurgical departments. The process consists of a written exam, followed by GD and a personal interview. Many other companies also visit the campus for hiring interns and the processes are almost similar. Role offered is that of a summer intern in most cases and the stipend varies from company to company.
Placement Experience
From semester 7 students become eligible for campus placements. More than 100 companies visits and more than 400 students get placed. Highest package is about 12 lakh per annum and the average package is about 3 lakh per annum. More than 70% gets placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure of the college is impressive and the college provides ample scholarships opportunities for the students. They are more than 100 companies that provide campus placements. Fees hikes in college in minimal and the cost to study is also minimal.
Campus Life
Life at the campus is good. Our tech fest sandhan and it is conducted at college in the month of March and April. The availability of books and journals at the library is ample and the librarian is also very kind. Some of the clubs run by students are the model club, Leo Club, Arts club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel's facility in the college is not soo bad but it's neither good. In our room, there are 3 beds in good condition. The quality of the meal is not soo good but not bad either. Our rooms are located in the college itself
