Internship and Criteria

I wanted to do my Bachelors in Nursing, so I had my cousin who was already studying in Sumandeep Nursing College who told me about all the criteria's about the admission and everything like fees which is 90000/yr, facilities on campus - buses available for transportation for day scholars, a mess for hostel students, canteen, 24/7 open library to refer books and study in AC halls, hostel, 7 in campus colleges in the university- nursing, MBBS, dental, physiotheray, pharmacy, management and ayurvedic just opened this year with its own in-campus hospital - Dhiraj General Hospital. The admission process was very easy if i would say it. They have a separate Admission cell in an Account section building where we were supposed to collect forms worth Rs. 100 and then attach the required documents (original) - 10th & 12th marksheet, Leaving certificate, high school completion certificate with xerox of Aadhar card. After submission, they just call us after 15 -20 days about the admission.

Nursing is a field of great opportunities in abroad countries plus a way to serve humanity. The faculty: student ratio is 1:100. The faculty have great knowledge regarding their feild of expertise and most important a very humble and friendly behavior. The teaching method is usually lecture and discussion method, PowerPoint presentations are used as an aid for better understanding about the topic being taught, students are provided a chance to clarify any doubts they want and can approach the faculty personally as well for any problem related to the subject. There are total 4 exams conducted by the college and 1 final exam conducted by the University. The exams are conducted on such a level that the students cover all the aspects required to be a nurse with all the knowledge required. Practical examinations are also conducted. clinical field knowledge is very essential in nursing which is absolutely achieved by the College.

The college itself provides internship opportunities within the campus in Dhiraj General Hospital as per GNC guidelines. There is a 6 months internship criteria that need to be cleared in the final year itself in order to complete the Bachelor's degree. The internship is divided into morning(6hrs), evening(6 hrs), and night(12 hrs) shift with one day off after 2-night shifts.

A placement offer is given to all the final year UG & PG students. Different hospitals like tricolor and sterlin hospital are coming this year for placement offers. In-campus placement in Dhiraj Hospital is also provided as soon as you complete any degree, not only in the clinical field but jobs are offered from colleges for the faculty department as well. I am planning to work in Canada as a registered nurse after I clear my NCLEX RN as per Canadian criteria.

Bachelors in Nursing is a course of 4 years with 90000 fees per year with 100 seats available. There are scholarships available for ST/SC community upto 80,000 Rs. and also scholarships available for students who gain more than 70% in the particular year. If there are students with financial problems, there a criteria available for half year fees payment as well. The campus also provides placement oppourtunities after completion of any degree. Job offer is given before completion of final year to deserving candidates in the in-campus hospital: Dhiraj General Hospital.

sumandeep university campus is very green and with lots of facilities. There are many different and amazing programs conducted in the university. We have cultural days of a week hosted by different colleges present within the campus with lots of different games, sports and fun activities with amazing decoration in the month of December. Also they conduct a big Cultural night hosted by college and one hosted by the university council in the month of February - "DEEP". There are many facilities available in the campus like- garden with Amul and Nescafe store, cricket , football and volleyball grounds, canteen, 24/7 open library with AC halls, well furnished classrooms with projectors and blackboard and well ventilated as well. A college council is made who are assigned to conduct different curriculum and extra curriclum activities every month. we have gyms and yoga clubs as well. Many seminars and CNE are conducted for providing extra knowledge in a 2000 capacity AC auditorium.

The campus also provides amazing hostel infrastructure as per the financial condition of all students. There is a general girls hostel (2 in 1 room) - Maitri (4 floors) and 2 general boys hostel- Charkha and Bhardwaj with gym facilities and common bathrooms and toilets, 2 NRI girls hostel (AC & NON-AC) (2 in1 room)- Dhanvantri(5 floors with lift) and Vama (7 floors with 2 lifts) with private bathroom and toilet and 1 NRI boys hostel. The campus mess provides 4 time meal with varying menu daily and different variety of options. To register for a hostel one needs an admission letter of a college within campus and adhaar card details with 2 passport size pictures.
