MBA- SMVDU My Experience

I applied for the Punjab University before applying to the SMVDU but because of not making good scores in the PI round I couldn't make it to get admission there. Have not availed any quota for taking admission here. The admission criteria are minimum of 50% of marks in the graduation, once appeared in the CAT/MAT exam and go through their entrance test for taking admission here.

I chose this course because of the diverse job options this MBA course offers. The faculty members are very well qualified and the approach of their teaching method is just fabulous. There were 6 teachers and 60 students in my batch. The term exams conduct mostly after the completion of the syllabus.

Various companies from the different fields like Pepsi, Shriram, Axis, ICICI, Uflex, Yes bank and many more visits the university campus and give internships to the students and also provides a stipend of 4000-8000 to the candidate according to the performance and nature of the job.

Pre campus placements start from the beginning of the 3rd semester and companies like Shriram, Pepsi, Hdfc, Axis, Yes bank, etc. comes to the university and give job offers to the students with a minimum salary of 4 to 6 lakh per year. 605 gets the placement from the university's campus placement cell.

The fees structure of the SMVDU is also nominal it will only cost you Rs. 98080 for the one year and 18000 as your hostel fee per year. No scholarship used to be offered by the university to the students during my programme.

Annual fests such as Tatva and Titiksha use to be organized by the university especially for the students who belong from the management department only. You'll face a shortage of books in the library especially during exam days. The classrooms are fully air-conditioned and have all the necessary amenities needed to run the class. Sports fest are also a part of the university which is organized by the university every year.

The rooms are well maintained and have the necessary facilities available like almirahs, beds, curtains and many more. The food of the mess is just average, not much good. The one year hostel fee is 18000 and it's mandatory to take the hostel by both girls and boys in the university.

The topic of my GD was "Caste-based reservations are impediments on building a caste-less society" on which I expressed my views and after clearing out the GD round they called me for the PI round and after clearing out the PI round I got the letter offer from the university regarding the approval of my admission.
