Remarks

As after completing my btech in electronics from delhi university and then working for 2 years i gave CAT and expected to get a good score to get admission in IIM kozhikhode, but i was not able to score the required percentile so i got admission in VELS management program. The reason for my choosing this college was its location that is in the capital of the city, ranking and accreditation by NBA, NAAC, NIRF, ARIIA, IRCLASS and MLIT as well as ranked 49 in south india among private B schools. The other reason was the placement achievement with more than 1000+ placement offers, 111+ multiple offers, 100 + company visits and the average salary. In the admission process i gave a scholarship test, then i checked my eligibility which was a degree with minimum 50 % from a recognised university and a valid CAT score then paying Rs 1000 as application fees and at the end paying fees and getting enrolled. I got to know about this college from an advertisement in a newspaper.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

My motives for choosing this course as after working in a MNC for 2 years i was looking for a substantial pay hike as well as exposure to the managing part of large conglomerates. all in all i was aware that the working hours are going to be arduous but it will guarantee me the lifestyle that i vision. The student faculty ratio was 15:1, about the teaching method the sessions were well supported by group discussions, case analysis, paper presentations, video deliberations, seminars, management games, business diplomacy, role plays, In basket exercises, industry quiz and so forth. One thing common in qualification of faculty was that all of them were Phd and NET qualified. The exams were timely after each semester in june and december in the afternoon sessions from 1:30 to 3: 30, the difficulty level of exams was of moderate level.

The internship i got was with IBM with a stipend of Rs 65000. The institute also offers six months optional internship in wall street New York, USA .The cost is 5500 US dollars and students get to learn and work with different students all around the world .The role offered to me under internship was junior business analyst with roles assigned according to the demands of the market on periodical basis with shifting roles in the team which i was working under.

When i secured the required merit in the CAT score then i was called for a group discussion with three moderators and 10 participants. The topics were, Impact of climate change, how is the performance of NDA -2 government and is there any need for the government to interfere in judges selection process. The duration of the GD was 12-15 minutes and after that in the interview i was asked questions about my sports and extracurricular activities, the environment in school, college and workplace, my future goals as well as what kind of woman i plan to marry. For GD i prepared by being in touch with the magazines and online newspapers, regarding interview they were basic questions about my life which i did not have much problem in answering.
