COMEDK - 101, I've always loved programming, starting all the way back in fourth grade. So there was never any question in my mind as to which course I would be taking. I've always been attracted to computer science, and PESIT is well known to offer the best computer science course in all of Bangalore.
Internships Opportunities
The college's placement cell is extremely proactive in getting companies for the campus for internships, and in recent years the companies themselves request that they be allowed to recruit from PESIT. The stipends range from 12 k-45 k INR a month. The average is around 30 k INR for summer internships and 25k for 8th sem internships.
Placement Experience
The CS department has around 95-100% placements. Last year 70 out of 240 students got Tier 1 jobs (>10 lpa). This year the number is expected to be even more, in spite of the predicted slump in the industry. Some of the companies include in order of CTC, Helpchat 30 lpa, Couch 20.2 lpa, Intuit 19.2 lpa, Myntra 16 lpa, Microsoft 16 lpa,, Citrix 16 lpa.
College Events
Aatmatrisha - Cultural/Technical fest, is organised to be a large event, but most people come just for the concert that is customary at the end of the 3 day fest. Prakalpa - The main technical fest, featuring projects from the various departments. The Amateur Scientist - Science fest for students in 9th-12th grade.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for students entering via PESSAT is 3.5 lakhs per year. While this is slightly on the more expensive side, the quality of education and opportunities provided more than make up for it. The fee structure is College fees 3 lakhs. Scholarships are provided for students who require financial assistance based on their performance.
Fees and Financial Aid
No loans are provided officially by college. 10% of fees are rebated every year for the top 10% of each department, as determined by their GPA.
Alumni/Alumna
There is absolutely no ragging in college. Your seniors are too busy building things or otherwise furthering their career. And they will help you do the same. Most of my decisions at college such as which course to take or which companies to work for have been based on the advice of teachers and seniors.
Exam Structure
The exams for future batches will be two CBT (Computer Based Tests) with a written final exam at the end of the semester. There are a total of 3 exam seasons which last a total of 4 weeks + 1 week for lab exams. So a large part of the year is free for you to work on projects or hobbies of your own.
