Remarks

I have secured a rank of 2050 in TS Eamcet exam(2020), and after councelling rounds 1 and 2, I have got a seat in this college (Vasavi college of engineering) in the ECE branch. After few days of the completion of the second round of councelling for TS Eamcet, the college administration has released a notification regarding Internal Sliding for vacant seats in all branches. The next day I attended the college for internal sliding and chose CSE and CSM(computer science and engineering with specialization in AI&ML) as my preferred branches for sliding. Later we got the message from college, which said that I have slid into the CSE branch, because of the sliding,I lost my eligibility for the Fee Reimbursement program, so the next day we went to college, paid the full fee, and confirmed my seat in the CSE branch. Earlier, I have applied for VIT and secured a seat in the ECE branch, and paid the fee. The main reason for not joining VIT later is the huge fee structure.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have chosen the CSE course because of its good prospects in the future and good placements. The faculty to student ratio in our college is good and it is around 1:14. Most of the faculty here hold 1 or more master's degrees in subjects regarding their department of teaching, also they are friendly and use good teaching methods. Being an Autonomous college, the curriculum here for CSE is good and it is updated every year. We have 2 internal exams and 1 final exam for every course. The difficulty level of exams is decent, anyone who works hard enough can easily score around 9 gpa.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Along with placements, many internship oppurtunities are provided for the final year students in companies like Amazon, ServiceNow, factset, oracle, infosys, hitachi etc. Apart from them a few internship oppurtunities are also provided by the college, for the students in their third year.

Placement Experience

4

In general, only the students from the final year are eligible for campus placements. Many companies like Amazon, Servicenow, uber, cisco, oracle, accolite, Infosys, Deloitte, tcs, etc.. visit the college every year for on-campus placements. The total number of offers made for the year 2020-2021 was 68. Students from CSE, IT, ECE get placed with avg packages of 6-7 LPA. Students from other branches are also mostly placed with avg packages ranging from 3.5 to 5 LPA According to placements of the year 2020-2021, 81.29% of the students eligible for placements were placed into various companies. few good offers from various companies were, Uber- 22.75 Lpa Amazon- 21 Lpa Servicenow- 21 Lpa Cisco- 18 Lpa Visa Inc.- 15.4 Lpa Oracle- 11 Lpa Accolite, Ivesco, Factset, LTI- 9 Lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students who got into the college under Convener quota i.e. through Eamcet councelling with a rank below 10,000, are residents of Telangana state and have an annual income lessthan 2,50,000(as of 2020), are eligible for the fee reimbursement program by the Telangana State government and the whole fee for the four years is paid by the state govt. In college also there were a few scholarship oppurtunities for financial assistance and for providing free laptops for students. Apart from the annual fee of 1,30,000, students based on their residence locations may have to opt for a college bus (around 25,00 a year), or for private hostels, since the college does not provide hostel facilities (5k to 7.5k per month). I am currently in my second year of the course and didn't get any job or take part in any internship provided by the college.

Campus Life

4

Every year Two main annual fests are conducted by the college, which is Euphoria and Acumen. Euphoria is the annual cultural fest that is held on a large scale with many activities. Acumen is the Annual Technical fest. These are usually conducted in the months of March and April. We have a huge library with more than 1,00,000 books and also an e-library computer center with around 90,000 e-books. All the classrooms are well equipped with computers and projectors. There are decent facilities for indoor games and for outdoor games we have a badminton court, volleyball court, basketball court, and a cricket ground. There are many clubs and chapters like a google developers club, toastmasters club, model united nation club, SWAYAM entrepreneurship club along with some cultural and technical clubs. All the students are allowed to join in them from the second year of their college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
