Remarks

I was applied to Jadavpur University, Presidency University, and st. Xavier's College before being selected for biotechnology of Brainware University. For my course, a candidate has to pass its 10+2 with PCB or PCMB and its minimum percentage was 60% in 12. In 2020 I had given WBJEE where I secured something 35,000 ranks. In counseling, I got biotechnology at Brainware University. Its staff and teachers are very supportive and humble, they give their best to make ourselves love biotechnology.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose biotechnology because my dream is to join the Indian armed forces and I want to serve my nation by innovating its medicines as well try to enhance the capability of the medical corps. Our faculty is very nice and humble as well as supportive. In my class, teacher Student ratio is 1:30. Every faculty holds the degree of Ph.D. and their teaching style is outstanding. Our college conduct class test in every month as well as vivas in every week. We also have to submit assignments and presentations. Semester exams are quite tough.

Internships Opportunities

5

Johnson and Johnson, Bharat biotech, and many more come to our college for internships and we got 10,000 rupees per month as a stipend. Our project was to determine the blood groups of people and vaccines. The outcome was that we all got selected for internships.

Placement Experience

5

From Semester 5 candidates are able for placements. There are more than 20 companies come. The highest package was 8 lakh per annum and the average is 2.5 lakh per annum. More than 80% of students got placed at Brainware University. My plan is to after my bachelor's I will join the Indian armed forces.

Fees and Financial Aid

When we got admitted we got the brochure we have to follow it. So, that's why there is no fees hike in the midterm. The cost to study is 3,00,00 lakhs. By which you will get some scholarships with respect to your 10 and 12th marks as well as various government scholarships. In the final semester, we got placed in various medical firms, food technology departments, etc.

Campus Life

5

In every year annual sports, annual fest happened in our college, they usually did this in the winter seasons. We have 2 libraries in college one is a central library which is full of various journals and autobiographies. Our college conducts annual sports as well as various quiz events.

Other Applied Colleges

Jadavpur University | BA (International relationships)

Because Iack of career expansion and higher fees with no placements.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
