Remarks

I have applied for admission to the following colleges for my BTECH degree: 1. NIT KURUKSHETRA -I didn't opt for it as I was getting electrical engineering there 2. In many IITs I was being provided with mechanical branches but I have no interest in that branch so I discarded it. 3. Finally I found my good to go College. I.e NIT JAMSHEDPUR and I got ECE branch here. The main reason for choosing this college over others is its placement and infrastructure. As I am having a good rank in JEE mains so I am eligible to get admission to this college. Min rank for obc is 4500 and max rank is 5500. My admission process was very smooth here. I was asked the following documents here: Medical card, JEE mains scorecard, Caste certificate, Income certificate.

Course Curriculum Overview

As nits follow exams in semester pattern. There are many gaps between the two exams so that we can properly read in the time given. Student to faculty ratio is 15:1. Teaching methods are good for some teachers but some teachers are not that good here.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities: A large no of cse and ece students gets every year internship opportunities. Companies from Amazon, arcesium, Microsoft Deshaw , Goldman Sachs, visit here for internship offers Students can do their internship any time in their 6th semester.

Placement Experience

One thing that you can boast of nit Jamshedpur is its placement. It provides one of the best placements for core branches. Students from the 7th semester having no active backlogs are eligible here. A lot of companies visit here. For software engineering roles: Amazon, Arcesium, Deshaw, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Tekion corp, Flypins, Paytm. Flipkart, Intuit visit here. Which offers pay ranging from 20-40 lakhs. For core branches. Companies tend to pay from 8- 18 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure. 62500 per semester tuition fees. 60000 per extra fees including mess, hostels, lab charge, sports, extra co-curricular activities, fests, medical facilities. As an obc student, I was eligible to apply for the fee remission process. As I have less than 1lakh Income. So I applied for it and got the fee remission.

Campus Life

We have various fests organized here: Culfest: cultural fest of nit Jamshedpur where several nits and IITs are invited here for different types of cultural activities. Urja: the annual sports fest of nit Jamshedpur. Nit Jamshedpur has all the necessary sports facilities including grounds, courts for every sport.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are very good here Each of the students are provided with a separate room here All the basic amenities are provided here in every room in the hostels Each floor has two washrooms which are regularly cleaned Each floor also has water purifier Mess food is quite good here as some of the foods made here are very delicious here

Hostel Fee: INR 130000 per year

Likes

Campus location is good but there is shortage of shops.
Professor are good and supportive and you can keep bike sk questions whenever you needed.

Dislikes

Mess food is not so good and if you taking hostel it is compulsory to take mess
Transpotation facility is not so good and you

Placement Experience:

From third semester students are allowed for internship and about the placement is about 5 to 6 lpa .Many students here are preparing for government exam like gate ,ies isro ,barc etc. And if you are not satisfied by placement from campus you can try off campus.

At the starting phase of college , we have a beautiful campus (which is not ours actually , its on rent ) loacted at Namkum, Ranchi. known as JUT campus, but after that things are not good.
Some what I liked the sports culture, but we don't have any sports Club yet.

Dislikes

Placements(actually there are students who are the coordinators for the placement group , there is no any particular advisor or any TPO head is there earlier...now there is one TPO coordinator but things are becoming worst there.
No grounds for any sports, we don't have badminton court indoors, so we have to wait for wind to settle before we can play outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually my branch is Electronics and communication engineering but my major interest lies in development area , i have gained all the skills in my college by my own taking some guidance from the seniors as they are very helpful and supporting. Improvements in course curriculum could be like they have to basically add one more course or any training program to help students for making skills and teaching them for their placements.(apart of the course , i am saying not because i am from ECE department , its common from any branch student)

I like my college

Likes

I like their rules and regulation of college.
I like the annual sports, event, and cultural program.
Regular classes, labs, and time to time internal exams

Dislikes

Thing that I don't like is hostal cleaning, mesh food.
I think there is more rules and regulation for senior boys hostels.
From senior boys hostel they pass some comment to the girls

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is the proper mindset from the class I chose to study btech. The areas for improvement in the course curriculum are more labs to be conducted proper smart classes to be held.

Placement statistics In 2024, the highest package offered at BIT Mesra was around INR 52 LPA. The average package offered in 2024 was around INR 17.5 LPA for BTech CSE, INR 16 LPA for ECE, and INR 11.5 LPA for EEE. The placement rate in 2024 was 75% for CSE, 60% for ECE, and 69% for EEE.

I came to this college as a 2nd year lateral entry student . Its a semi government college . The area of improvement include insfarstructure and more faculty member as it has less faculty member than required .

Likes

the greenery of college campus is very nice
the environment of the college is very good
college library staffs are very well behaved

Dislikes

the faculty is not up to the mark , u will not be satisfied by their teaching
student intake is very very less so you will experience less competition
the college campus is beautiful yet very small

Placement Experience:

yes campus placement is offered . the average package is about 7 to 8 lakhs in C.S.E , the placement rate is about 90% for which above 7.5 CGPA is required . The placement rate for E.C.E and E.E.E are also decent .

Experience of an undergrad

Likes

college have great environment good facilities needed as per requirements ,college also have good spacious hostels and we can say better food comparing to what i heard from friends of different colleges ,the evening time is soothing and relaxing
a great senior junior interaction culture and memorable friendships letting you forget the world outside the campus, every festivals are celebrated with joy and fun ,from leaving a family to moving to another one you would love.
some of lectures are quite boring but some will amaze you with visionary thoughts ,every faculty will guide you if they see you lagging behind the course ,some extra sessions are also conducted, introducing new fields to think out of the box

Dislikes

things which i wish might get some improvements are sports facilities big grounds for sports activities students encouragement towards co-curricular activitiy, co-curricular activities get more support to come out with glorious and imagining skills.
fests do contain fun but due to time constraints before fests planning of amazing activities becomes difficult thus leading same things going on repeating, absence of good team leaders leading activities plays major role in activity failure and bored
night out time is a small problem, the area close to college is developing hence not having nearby much places for fun and chillouts spending your free time relaxing.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is average as during 2023-24 it was recession period all over the colleges are facing placements lags but still college students managed to achieve 22 lakhs+ off campus as well as 16 lakhs on campus placement.The college reached his highest placement of 51 lakh during 2023 ,the average package is 5-6 lakh and the placements percentage are 85 percent for cse students,the students completing 7th semester are eligible for on campus placement drive as well as off campus,some of the prominent companies visited are Microsoft, cognizant, samsung, byjus,infosys and 50 more.I will prepare for gate and after that i will try to get on and off campus placements which i will find better accept the offer.

From 4 semester onwards you are eligible for placement and internship and most of the students Even get the government jobs and psu and some even in public service commission. The college places 97% of its students.

Detailed review of nit jamshedpur

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment. Life at NIT JAMSHEDPUR

I also got Birla institute of technology Mishra college Ranchi, but because of very high fees I choosed National institute of technology Jamshedpur. Apart from that nit jamshedpur have a good placement record as compared to other colleges that I was getting and it has a little bit of low fees as compared to other private colleges. I wanted to go on IIT Delhi but I what rejected in JEE advanced exam. Apart from this I was selected for any other colleges. And for taking admission in my college a student have to qualify JEE mains exam with good percentile. Then they have to fill jossa counselling for getting admission into colleges where you have to choose NIT Jamshedpur as first preference or an any other college that you want as first preference. Also you have to secure 75% in 12th board of CBSE board students. Otherwise even if you get good percentile in JEE exam still you won't be able to join any NIT college of India.
