Remarks

I got my admission to this institute in the third round of the CAP process, through my JEE mains results. I was eligible for the course so the next day I took off to confirm my seat. When I first visited the college I was quite amazed by the infrastructure. I did not face any difficulties in the admission process as well as the payment gate. The whole process was done in an hour or so.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I always had an interest in machines and later developed an interest in thermodynamics during my days in junior college. This course was the best suited for me to get the best from both worlds. I am not sure how to provide an answer regarding the faculty-student ratio but t has never been a problem in our college where a faculty finds it difficult to control the students. The faculties in the mechanical department are very helpful and have a vast amount of knowledge in the subject they are assigned to teach. There have been instances where the professors were unable to clearly teach a few concepts due to a few communication barriers and a few of them being unable to speak English properly. The examinations were never a problem for me as I did come prepared every time and anyone who was able to understand the subject concepts was clearly able to pass any examination.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

We were unable to get any internships through college where were offered stipends, but instead, we had to pay a particular amount to get a 5 day or a 30 days internship in companies like Reliance or RCF. As a trainee under RCF, I was exposed to a lot of industrial applications and tools that I was genuinely unaware of, and I was also able to find out how theoretical values are different and how the machines in real life behave, from compressors to chimneys.

Placement Experience

1.5

The campus placement system of my college (as far as I have seen) is quite strange. A huge chunk of IT companies has arrived to hire students. But as mechanical engineers, we study four years with subjects like ICE, automobiles, thermodynamics, and then ending up with a job as an IT engineer just because the college was unable to provide placement is really something to look into.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees hike policy has adversely affected us especially during such difficult times, there was no reduction in fees even though the whole academic year was online! The college without showing sympathies to the students or their family members just rolled out the fees drive and asked everyone to pay the fees on time or be unable to get the results. As a mechanical engineer, I am quite disappointed in the campus placement process as there has hardly been a company in our college campus related to our field.

Campus Life

4.5

The life in the campus is quite amazing. The students (Seniors and Juniors) are very decent and amazing people. The college is located near Versova beach and sitting at the balcony with friends feeling the fresh breeze of air just passing by makes everyone feel quite rejuvenating. There are alot of clubs in our college, Interdisciplinary clubs which help students develop their soft skills and help them in personality development. The technical clubs like Robotics/Aero RGIT where students apply the practical application of the subjects they learn to take part in international and national level competitions and hone their technical skills. There are also a couple of social service clubs whose aim is to help people in need through various drives and other activities. One of these clubs named THE SOCH RGIT has played a vital role during the lockdowns in providing the ration to the people living in rural areas.

Other Applied Colleges

Terna | Mechanical

The travelling would've been hectic for me, and RGIT is way better.

The campus placement is decent in the college as compare to other colleges of the city . many companies visited the college every year to hire the skillful engineers from the college and offer them a good amount of package. The option of the offcampus palcement is also there for the students of the other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
