An honest review of PES UNIVERSITY

To be eligible to take admission in a computer science course you should get at least 50 percent aggregate in physics chemistry and mathematics in class 12th. I have joined the college through KCET competitive exam. Normally its application will be released during the month of November but this time it is delayed due to COVID reasons. You can find the application on this site:- kea.kar.nic.in The fee of the application is Rs 500 and Rs 250 for girls, SC, ST students. The cutoff of this course is usually below 2000 rank for the general category. So you should obtain a very good rank to join. I have obtained admission through the OBC 3BG Category which has a reservation of 5%. Entire fees have to be paid in a single installment. I think this could be made better by giving 2 or 3 installments. The remaining admission process is very simple and transparent. I chose this course because I was very much interested and fascinated by tech from the beginning. Also, it has a very good scope in the future because of the internet boom taking place at present. The placements were also wonderful. Faculty: student ratio is 1:30. Since the classroom size is only 60 each student gets a chance to ask and learn whatever is taught. The faculties are much experienced and well qualified. More than half of them are Ph.D. holders and have the experience of attending international conferences. They are very friendly and helpful (Obviously like everywhere there are some exceptions) The teaching method is practical-based and skill-oriented. The syllabus keeps updating every 2 to 3 years (no outdated syllabus). This makes the class interactive and interesting. There will be 2 internal exams, one lab exam, one assignment, and 1 final exam in every semister (except final year). The difficulty of the exam is high compared to other colleges but it is worth it.

Almost 60 percent of students get internship opportunities from college through many companies like Infosys. The remaining will find outside easily because of college brand. This will happen in the 8th semister. The top 10 percent will get an opportunity for international internships. The stipend varies greatly from 35k per month to 10k per month depending on the company. We will get internships in software and management roles. We will be given projects like web development, software testing, bug identification, bug fixes. We can also learn many things like teamwork and team management.

Students become eligible for campus placement after completing the 7th semester. Some get placed in the 7th semester only during their internships. More than 70 companies visit our college including Infosys, Cisco, Goldman Sachs, Dell, IBM, Unacademy, Amazon, Flipkart, Byjus. More than 850 offers www made by these companies. The highest package was given by Confluent (a UK Based company) - 1.5 crores. In Indian placements highest was given by Microsoft - 49 LPA. Average placements are around 13 -14 LPA for our branch. More than 90 percent of the students get placed from our branch. I already got placement from Byjus of 22 LPA during campus placements. So I plan to upgrade myself by giving my best in my job.

The fees structure is different for different types of seats:- 1. Kcet quota :- 1,10,000 per annum 2. PESSAT Qouta :- 4,10,000 per annum 3. Management quota:- 7-8 lakhs per annum. Hostel cost is around 1,25,000 for all. There is no fee hike, the same fees are maintained for all 4 years. Following scholarships are given in the college:- 1. MRD Scholarship:- 40% tuition fee waiver for top 20%. 2. Prof CNR RAO Scholarship:- 50% tuition fee waiver for top 10%. 3. International internship travel grant was given for top 10 % in 8th sem. Along with this distinction awards, rural scholarship, foundation awards, and SAP Merit scholarship are also given. You will also get paid if you assist professors in teaching. In the final year internships are also provided by the college. More than 70 % of the students can get this internship.

Aatmatrisha and Maaya are the cultural fests held. They are held in the month of December. Tech fests like inGenious and Ignium are held in the month of October. Along with this many hackathons are also frequently held. Thousands of books and many weekly and monthly journals are available in the 2-floor college library. You can also borrow the necessary books from the library. Classrooms are well built with all the modern facilities. Every classroom has a touchscreen smart Tv which assists in teaching. Labs are well equipped with all the necessary equipment. Skill labs are also maintained which helps to outshine in the corporate world. More than 60 clubs are present which helps to find out your talent. Facilities for all the popular sports like cricket, basketball, football, tennis, badminton, table tennis are present. The cricket ground here is approved by the Karnataka cricket association. Groups of college are present on every social media. There is an app built for the college.

The hostel is situated 5 km away from the college and a bus facility is provided by the college. All the rooms are 3 seats. All basic facilities like wifi, washing machine, meals are provided in the hostel. Warning:- The warden is very strict (especially in a girl hostel). Meal quality is very good and the menu is decided by the committee of selected students according to the budget. There is a separate mess for North Indians. You can register at the hostel while taking admission to the college. But the cost of the hostel is Rs 1,25,000 which is not affordable for everyone. So they stay in PG in the locality. The locality is near Ring road, Banashankari, Bengaluru, and many PGs are available in this locality.

You can join the college by clearing the cutoff of exams like KCET, PESSAT, and JEE MAINS. Then counseling will be conducted by respective authorities and you will get admission if your rank is good enough. The syllabus of exams is the same syllabus of classes 11th and 12th. For KCET and JEE MAINS you have to prepare for physics, chemistry, and mathematics. For PESSAT along with this, you have to prepare for English and aptitude. For management quota seats you have to contact the office directly. There is no interview, but there will be group discussions in which they will tell you details of the college like introduction, instructions, rules, opportunities, academics, etc.
