Remarks

1) Great Return on Investment.2) Prestigious IIM Tag.3) Great learning under mentorship of IIM- Lucknow with same curriculum and course structure. Also guest faculties keep visiting the campus, majorly from IIM-L.4) Robust recruitment procedure with reputed recruiters coming from all walks of management.5) I am inclined towards marketing and IIM-J offers good profiles from the specialisation.6) College lies in the heart of the city with every facility available on campus.7) Airports n railway station lies nearby which gives great advantage in terms of location at the time of placement.8) Advantage to be a part of Pan India IIM Alumni Network having its own advantages in terms of both learning and networking.

Course Curriculum Overview

According to the alumni, B-School experience at IIM-jammu is top notch. The course curriculum is that of IIM-Lucknow, and the institure constantly hosts faculties from the same. Industrial exposure and Live projects keeps students on toes, and summer placements provides a vision through the practical corporate world under globally recognised recruiters.

Placements are decent given it is a relatively new IIM. Location sometimes effects in placement, as we have to travel to Delhi for a few companies, but it is an emerging IIM in terms of placements. Highest touched 24 LPA for the batch of 2019, and most of the placements were from marketing specialisations.

College Events

They say YOBO- You only b-school once.It stands absolutely true for jammu campus as the annual fest empyrean is the epitome of fun and frolic. The campus also hosted music festival sunburn last year. Other than the school hosts numerous industry integration programs and demands active participation honing leadership and team playing traits in students.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I did not take any scholarship or loan through college. Most of students take loans separately from banks. Loans are a smooth sail if one is an iim- call getter. It takes maximum 1 month to get it sanctioned, most of them are collateral free.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is good, campus is Wi-Fi enabled, we have gym, mess and hostel facilities. Campus is located in the heart of the city and has beautiful weather and greenery around it. Only thing I personally dislike is disallowance of 2-wheelers on campus.

Hostel Facilities

The campus has separate hostels for girls and boys, which are easily accesible and hostel rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. Rooms are sharing and the cost is included in 13.80 lpa overall.

Hostel Fee: INR 138000 per year

i liked the overall infrastructure of the university and their teaching

the curriculam was learner friendly it mostly pursuits for acadimic not real world .yes we can use audio visal aids and flied triep .the timing of exam was in late evening of winter it was difficult for some students to reach on time.

My opinion about nit

Likes

I like the diversity and culture of college students come from all states each festival is celebrated with fun .
The infrastructure is good providing facilities like library, amphitheatre, auditorium etc.
I like college ground where we can walk and relieve from academics

Dislikes

College infrastructure can be improved in rainy season there is water accumulation at many places , water drainage system should be there .

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester student become eligible for placement. The companies visited are L &T for civil which is big company and select many students, jsw for mechanical and increff , paypal , microsoft, visa ,make my trip for IT and CSE

Likes

Hostel I liked the most with health care facilities, internet gym
Sports field are quite awesome cricket ground alongwith other grounds
Food is fantastic and clean and safe environment of the campus

Dislikes

Frequent exams , adminstration lack of student friendly administration
Cold winters and lack heating facilities for the students
There are no special circulum activities in the universityfor the students

Students in the last semester are eligible for campus placement Recently reliance bio energy Pvt LTD,lic ,hdfc bank and many other companies did placement drive in the campus Highest average packing was 10 lakh per annum by reliance

Likes

College campus is best as we enter the college
Spending time with friends at the campus in free tym is just like awesome
All facilities are available in campus playground, swimming , library etc.

Dislikes

Canteen is small according to student population
Sitting space in canteen is not as much gud
Some appliances are not working properly

Course Curriculum Overview:

First of all, I had taken science in my 12th too, that is why I wanted to continue in science and due to my interest in physics and chemistry, I continued in this course. The curriculum provides me with Whatever is sufficient in my course and whatever knowledge I need, I will have more than that. Exam timing should be in the afternoon only because morning gets very late in coming due to which exam gets skipped, rest it is perfect

Government Degree College for Women- Academically marvelous with good infrastructure.

Likes

The campus beautiful and very well maintained. It has a beautiful playground and is located in the middle of the town.
This college is safe and secure for girls. It has some unique features like Committee Against Sexual Harassment, Anti Ragging Committee etc.
The campus has drinking water facilities, good canteen with good food and great administration.

Dislikes

The sitting arrangement for the students is not upto the mark.
The college does not provide good transportation facilities for students coming from far flung areas who face a lot of difficulty in reaching the campus.
The washrooms need improvement. The hygiene needs to be improved. More washrooms should be constructed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very interesting. The specific areas that influenced my decision are Number Theory and and Calculus. In this course we're taught everything that we need to pursue higher studies like M.Sc. The exams are conducted by University of Kashmir and the difficulty level is average. The faculty is highly qualified and the teaching method employed is to deliver a lecture and it can be improved by making the sessions more interactive and immersive by increasing the use of technology like smartboards.

Faculty is very nice and the way they teaches us is outstanding
I like the campus beauty my college campus is very mesmerizing and maintainance is great
I like the fee structure of my college it is very affordable

Dislikes

I don't like timetables of my college the time table they made for classes is not suitable for us
There is not digitalized classes in our college..only few class rooms have this system
No heating system for winters in classrooms as well as in Libra

I am currently doing my BA Hons in political science. It was my aim to pursue my degree in political science since my childhood.. political science has a very good scope and it is also very interesting subject ...we can exercise politics in day to day life also

After completion of the degree one can give the post graduation examination or can work as a junior resident in any government or private institute and can expect a salary package of 12lakhs per annum

Extracurricular activities like Fest, games, inter college competition etc
Course and faculty are the sweetest. They guide you through thick and thin
University lifestyle, infrastructure, nature scenery and vibe.

Dislikes

Extra strictness in terms of girls timings
Only coffee day beverage is there and some fast food shops and juice and kriyana shops . No nescafe etc
Monkeys in the university and hostel are too much.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 1st semester itself. Pepsico, vitalth forgers pvt ltd. , cisco, SBI, Amazon, Google. Many offers are made. 90℅ student getting placement. I plan to pursue my phd in this university.

INSIDE IIM JAMMU

There were several other colleges that I had applied for : IIM INDORE, IIM ROHTAK, IIM RANCHI, IIM BODHGAYA, SCMS PUNE, SCMS NOIDA. I got confirm admission from IIM ROHTAK, SCMS NOIDA, IIM BODHGAYA while in SCMS PUNE, I was in waiting list. For IIM Indore as well as IIM RANCHI , i was left behind in sectional cut-off in english . In IIM ROHTAK, I was offered Integrated Programme in Law but I wanted to go in management field hence I refused the offer. Finally i chose IIM JAMMU over IIM BODHGAYA because of it's better NIRF ranking and better placement opportunities. ADMISSION PROCESS OF IIM JAMMU Fisrtly we have to clear JIPMAT (joint integrated programme in management entrance test). Then there will be other components such as cut offs, 10th and 12th scores, gender diversity and JIPMAT score. The ratio for each varies each year . The admission procedure was easy although the exam was quite competitive. With out of 6000 students 60 getting placed in IIM jammu The cut off was 95 percentile above for general. The application is easily available on Google everything on the website you can get. The exam is conducted once a year i.e.JIPMAT in particularly May. All the student who have completed there under graduation and wanted to pursue there career in the management field can apply for the Common admission test (CAT), which is a competitive exam for admission into prestigious management institutes like the IIM's and other top B-school. The CAT application forms open around the september on the CAT official Website and the exam is usually held in november and its a computer based test.I took the Common Admission Test for the MBA Course thru which i score 91.15 percentile under the EWS category. The cutoff for the IIM Jammu under the EWS category was 90 percentile. After that result the interview was held and the composite score of exam and interview score was released by the college along with the college offer letter and waiting list.
