ICFAI B- School - My story

For admission, I had to first register for the IBSAT. The application form was available on the website which I filled it in and submitted along with a payment of Rs 1800. I chose ICFAI Business School because it is among the top 15 business schools in the country to have received the globally accepted AACSB accreditation. Its excellent placement team and highly qualified faculty also factored into my decision.

There are 30 courses in total out of which 22 are compulsory courses and 8 elective courses. The courses cover the basic business management topics so that we develop a strong foundation in the theoretical aspects. Also we have highly qualified faculty members with industry experience who provide hands on teaching through class room sessions, Group Discussions, Mock tests, quizzes and presentations. All my professors were very friendly and I had a very good relationship with all of them.

I got a chance to intern with the Panasonic India Group. I worked with their marketing team on various and got to learn various different skills and strategies like decision making, adaptability, data analysis and interpersonal skills. All my team members including my Manager were great and extremely helpful. I got around Rs 7,000 as stipend.

Our Institute has an impeccable track record of achieving excellent placements every year. Around 96% of my classmates including me were placed in top companies in various sectors. The highest salary package this year was Rs 16 lakh nationally and Rs 50 lakh internationally. Average salary of the top 25% was around Rs 9 lakh. Some of the top companies that visited our campus are HDFC Bank, ICICI Prudential, Apollo Group, Spencers Retail, Cognizant, Tata Group, Mahindra Finance, Food Panda, CRISIL, Deloitte etc.

The total fee for my MBA program here was around Rs 16 lakhs which I paid in equal installments throughout the duration of my course. In addition to this, I had to pay Rs 10,000 as refundable caution deposit along with the 1st installment. During the fifth installment I paid Rs 4000 as convocation fee.

The Club Sankalp at IBS Business School is in charge of organising the annual college fest. It is also in charge of various other flagship events throughout the year. Cultural performances and amateur sports tournaments are quite popular.

I live in a 2BHK Flat near the college campus and share it with two of my classmates. It is in Kollur region which is quite well connected by all major transportation facilities. The rent is around Rs 8500 which is shared by all of us. We also have to pay separately for the electricity and gas bill.

Based on my performance in the IBSAT exam, I was invited by the institute to appear for the selection process which includes group discussion and personal interview. In the personal interview section, I had to answer questions regarding why I chose ICFAI University, my career and academic goals etc.
