Remarks

My college is good for people who want to maintain a low profile, have good academics and get placed. But for those who want to enjoy in an adventurous way it is not an apt place as disciplinary actions are very strict.

Entrance Preview

To join my college, I attempted the Amrita entrance exam and I scored an all India rank of 1844. I also attempted EAMCET exam in Andra Pradesh and secured a rank in 7000. Though I could get a seat in one of the best colleges in A.P, I chose Amrita because it was ranked 27 in the list of top engineering colleges in India. The admission process is simple. After you write the exam, you will receive your score card with your rank with in a few days.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course cirriculum is similar to iits. The course is divided into 8 semesters. The first semester has common subjects for all branches of engineering. The subjects are Engineering Mathematics, physics, physics lab, English, English lab, electrical engineering, mechanical workshop, Engineering drawing, Civil engineering, and a humanity class with cultural education. The second semester also has similar subjects with chemistry, chemistry lab, electrical workshop, electronics, and computer science along with lab. The later semester focus more on electronic and electrical subjects along with placement training classes.

Internships Opportunities

The internship from our college is good and many students got placed in the companies for internship. The stipend offered is varied according to company with an average stipend of 25, 000 per month. MNCs like Cisco and Ericson offered internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement and job opportunities are really good. The thing is you should have a good GPA to be eligible to attend the placrment. Generally the good CGPA(cumulative GPA) for mass recruitment companies is 6 or 6.5. The eligible CGPA for core company depends on the company. Most of the people who are eligible for the placement process got placed. Companies like Newsigma, TCS, Wipro, Bosch, National Instruments visited the college. TCS offered 3.2 lakhs per annum. Newsigma offered 8 lakhs per annum.

College Events

4

Every year in the odd semester, a fresher's party with the name Talent hunt is celebrated to find the new talents among the freshers. A tech fest and a fest called Arohan is celebrated where children from different schools come to present their technical projects. Every semester Sports day is celebrated. In the even semester Kalanjali is celebrated on finishing another successful acedamic year and the students who excel in acedamics are rewarded and also other achievements by students and faculty is made known to all and they are rewarded.

Campus Life

4

The campus life seems restricted to some people but it provides discipline and safety to students. Drinks and outside food is not allowed into hostels and smoking is strictly prohibited in the campus. There are no politics and parties and no discrimination. The extra curricular activities are available to people who are interested and to take part in them and same with the sports. The food is not so good but can be managed. There are any food sources available around the college.

Exam Structure

The exams are divided into internal and external. There are 3 qyizes and two periodical tests in the internal side and one final exam as external exam. The periodicals are hectic but the end semester is provided with ample time. Who scores good marks in internal exams can do well and score a good grade. The labs have continuous assessment and there are two tests in every lab, a internal and external exam. Along with the exams the record and observation notes in lab session have some evaluation.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is good and are very open to clarify the doubts. Some faculty are very strict and they set a role model to students. A few faculty are student friendly and provide a comfortable zone in the class. All faculty are not well experienced and they learn while teaching the students.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
