Remarks

Facility is good and the same is infrastructure. But its fame outclasses both. So if a student struggles with his course in that vast environment, then nobody is there to give him extra guidance and care. Administration/management is slower than expected

Entrance Preview

On the basis of total marks of science subjects of higher secondary examination. No written test or interview.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is according to the guidelines of University of Calcutta. Both theory and practical classes were strictly according to the guideline and timeline of the university.

Internships Opportunities

There was no internship facility for my subject. Only few seminar and symposium were there to learn the applied part of the subject. There was no general stipend at my time.

Placement Experience

3

There was no campus placement since it is undergraduate level of a a basic subject. But after post graduation training/degree/diploma or after further studies/research all of my classmates were well placed in government/private jobs.

College Events

3

Many cultural events were celebrated in flying colors and big number of students actively used to participate in those events. Annual college social was a big budget festival where renowned local and regional singers used to perform along with college students.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not availed any loan facility since there was no such facility for my course or subject. None of my friends availed such facility.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good with healthy gender ratio. From the point of view that covers all aspects of extracurricular activities, labs, sports, competitions it is better than the others in this region.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not very strong. It should avail the social networking sites to search and update its database for further advancement. Stronger network will increase the chance of interaction and will make the community stronger.

Faculty

4

Faculties were good and knowledgeable persons. They spent sufficient time to learn both the basics and application of the subject. They arranged regular class tests. For further advancement, they arranged regular seminar/symposium also.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
