Remarks

B.Tech in DTU only depends on your JEE MAIN score. I repeat only JEE MAIN not ADVANCED. So it is the eligibility, You have to pass class 12th with PCM as the main subjects having an aggregate of around 60% and 55% for reserved candidates + appear in JEE MAIN exam conducted by NTA and get a decent Rank in the same. You have to pay around 600 (boys) and 300 (girls) INR to appear in the exam. Generally, JEE MAIN is conducted in Jan and April. The application form would be made available on the jeemain.nta.nic.in website. DTU secure some seats for the reserved candidates which makes a large difference in their RANK and those of the General category. You should be ready with all necessary documents like Income Certificate, Caste Certificate, EWS Certificate to avoid the last-minute hassle.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) is an all-rounder course that acts as a bridge between CS/IT branch and the core Electrical branches which are like a golden opportunity as you can prepare for the placements in Tech, Non-Tech as well Core companies. Although the package is the highest for Tech placements. Having an ECE branch also allows you to give government engineering exams like PSU, GATE, etc. The faculty is good not too much like that of IITs, NITs, IIITs but they are highly knowledgeable so if you really want to go on the research side then start following the professors in the beginning and they will help you for sure. Professors are very frank and friendly, to be honest. There exists two major exams conducted per semester Mid Term and End Term. It's not difficult to pass the exams; you only need to devote some time (say 1week, 2week) before the commencement of exams giving you a lot of free time. However, in online mode due to continuous evaluation, the schedule becomes so hectic.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies visit the campus for Internships opportunities after completing 4 semesters. This year more than 300 students get internships with stipends varying between 20k-2lakhs. The highest was given by Sprinklr. If you maintain a good GPA and prepare well for your internships, you will definitely get one. Seniors also support students on various platforms in getting a good intern. You have to make a project to include it in your resume and if it is based on something that actually solves a real-life problem then that will be a cherry on the cake.

Placement Experience

4

After completing 6 Semesters, the companies start coming to recruit the students; so yes you do not need to go anywhere the college itself provides placements. You only need to prepare well for their interviews and you are placed. All major companies - Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Spriklr, Accenture, Goldman Sachs, and many such visit the campus for recruitments, and almost 95% of students get placed with a decent package. International Package went overs crores, and Domestic packages are more than 50lpa. The lowest package is around 6lpa which is like the average package of some Tier 3 or private colleges. The average package is around 16lpa which is definitely a good return for the investment. Almost all big MNCs allowed all branches to give their tests.

Fees and Financial Aid

I agree the fee here is increasing every year and they will be soon comparable to private colleges I think ;). In my time we are required to pay 2.06 Lakhs for the first year. Although the college has tied up with the goverment providing Fee concession and various Scholarships. Those whose annual income is less than 1lpa get 100% fee concession, <2.5lpa get 50 and those <4.5lpa get 25% concession on the total fees. There are also Scholarships available for both General and Reserved candidates for example those who are residents of Delhi can apply for the scholarships on the E-District Portal of the Delhi govt. Other state students can apply on NSP (National Scholarship Portal) for the same. So yes you can easily complete your graduation if your annual family income is not much.

Campus Life

5

ENGIFEST (Annual fest) - It is the second biggest fest of North India after IIT Delhi. So this can also be the reason to join DTU without a second thought. It is generally conducted in the month of February. Topmost celebrities are a part of this fest. Along with this, several other cultural and tech fests are organized by the college. All this makes college life at DTU extremely amazing. The library is a multi-floored building fully air-conditioned having thousands of books. I can't think that there exists a book or journal not available in our library. In summers you will spend most of the time here only. DTU is known for its extracurricular activities. With more than 50 societies and clubs, the college participates in almost every major competition and conduct them. You will find every sport here and can join the team by giving trials. PS - No swimming pool in the college. Our canteen Mechc. OAT, Sports Complex, etc makes the college different from others.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
